It's almost like I was ripped off, being promised 100 Lindens by filling out a survey, and I was fooled completely. Luckily I never had to pay any lindens to fill out the survey, but I guess that shows that I don't trust surveys whatsoever. Reliable surveys are few and far between in SL. I may as well throw in the towel on this one. It looks like I am vowing never again to fill out any more surveys, as they are deemed "too good to be true" in nature. I think maybe I will build a couple of houses in a sandbox and try to sell them myself in SL in the coming months. And a word to the wise for anyone who is considering filling out this survey - DON'T RISK IT. It's only a waste of time; and besides, there are other ways to earn lindens in SL. There are plenty of hosting jobs in the SL world. There are plenty of tutorials on how to build houses in SL - including several on YouTube. You can even learn to create animations, create a clothing line, furniture, or other great stuff that you can fill your time in SL and sell them eventually. Devote yourself to 2 hours a day of trying to build the object, and a reward will come out of it eventually. And Danielle Hancroft, if you read this post carefully, please take my advice. You'll understand why it is never a good idea to take part in promotions that are deemed "too good to be true." Be creative, and positive results will come out of it in the long run.  is this how you think? you only spend some time in something if you get money out of it. your a very poor guy. mention that good things you do will come back to you sooner or later. |

Note that the whole thing is a scam. Also, it's a survey. Surveys are pretty universally reviled in these Forums--there's at least one a week--so unless there's compensation, there probably won't be a response. There are some criteria for getting anybody to pay attention to a survey without paying: - Genuine and verifiable academic credentials - Survey hosted on website of an academic institution - Topic different from the last five surveys (that is, not about RL brands in SL) - Not an obvious shill for market research (that is, not about RL brands in SL) - Not obviously an attempt to smear SL and its residents in the media - Survey taker has spent enough time in-world to know better than to ask clueless "online game" questions as if they had some relevance to SL It's best if the survey is well-constructed, but folks put up with some extraordinarily naive instruments if it's clear the survey taker is doing this for a class, as long as most of the other criteria are met. Also, bear in mind that L$100 is less than US$0.40--generally less compensation than 5 minutes for even undergrad human subjects.

I agree. To some users, this survey was a scam indeed. They fall into the category "too good to be true." I think I will avoid surveys from now on and stick with earning lindens the right way and participate in trivia events. From: kunigunde Naidoo your a very poor guy. For your information, I am a female in RL and in SL. |
