Get $L100 for completing an Academic Survey!

The University of Hong Kong's School of Business invites you to participate in a study on Second Life. The purpose of this survey is to investigate the popularity of Second Life and residents' experience. We are also collecting data about general individual characteristics to help us better understand your Second Life experience. Your participation in the study is completely voluntary.

The survey has 6 sections and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. As a token of gratitude for your participation, we will pay 100 Linden dollars (L$100) to your Second Life account provided to us. By participating in this study, you can have the chance to look at factors which are related to your Second Life experience and help us understand people's Second Life experience in general. Each person can only participate once.

Don't worry it usually takes a couple of days but you will get payment soon enough.

It actually says at the end expect it in about 7 days, so just be patient.

I am sure that you must get paid if you have completed the form.

I finished the survey 8 days ago (on 9/6), and I am still awaiting payment.

I just did the survey. It was pretty fun. Better than most surveys I do!

No, didn't get paid instantly, and If you have multiple characters I am sure you can complete it more than once. But not with the same character.

Hi Pyrite Sopwith, i cannot find your record in the database, are u using another account to complete the survey? please let me know if you have not received money yet if you have done the survey.

I may have put some incorrect information by mistake on the form that does not match the information in my account. I will check my balance, and maybe the money was registered to my linden account.

If the money does not prevail in my linden account, is it alright if I do the survey again?

What do you mean "Push"?

And more than a month after completing the survey, the money still doesn't prevail. It's almost like I was ripped off, being promised 100 Lindens by filling out a survey, and I was fooled completely. Luckily I never had to pay any lindens to fill out the survey, but I guess that shows that I don't trust surveys whatsoever. Reliable surveys are few and far between in SL.

I may as well throw in the towel on this one. It looks like I am vowing never again to fill out any more surveys, as they are deemed "too good to be true" in nature. I think maybe I will build a couple of houses in a sandbox and try to sell them myself in SL in the coming months.

And a word to the wise for anyone who is considering filling out this survey - DON'T RISK IT. It's only a waste of time; and besides, there are other ways to earn lindens in SL. There are plenty of hosting jobs in the SL world. There are plenty of tutorials on how to build houses in SL - including several on YouTube. You can even learn to create animations, create a clothing line, furniture, or other great stuff that you can fill your time in SL and sell them eventually. Devote yourself to 2 hours a day of trying to build the object, and a reward will come out of it eventually.

And Danielle Hancroft, if you read this post carefully, please take my advice. You'll understand why it is never a good idea to take part in promotions that are deemed "too good to be true." Be creative, and positive results will come out of it in the long run.

Hi Pyrite Sopwith , I am sure that we have paid to everyone who has completed to the survey. Our team works twice a week to check the updates and we are not cheating any people.

So when do I receive payment?

Your next step would be to take that transaction number to LL support and ask them what happened to it, Payment Parx is saying that you already received the money over a month ago.

I may have, and not realized it. I thought I didn't receive it originally because I never got a message saying "Payment Parx has paid you (referring to I) L$100"
