I'd LOVE to see the upcoming Civil War series made into a movie... this series looks really really promising.

Captain America is the man!

If Marvel produces a Superman movie, I think DC might have a thing or two to sue about it.

I like captain america, but his suit needs an update.

I think Iron Man needs a movie.

I love "civil war" I think it would be a great movie.

But really for me, I want them to do a Sgt. Rock Movie. Which would, of course, be DC.

Or Bat Girl. Batgirl needs a movie.

Or even better: the danger girls.

Joss Whedon of Firefly and Buffy fame was, the last I read, wanting to do a Wonder Woman movie they just need a script and to find an actress to play her. Todd McFarlane wants to do another Spawn live-action movie and as far as I know there is going to be another Sin City movie.

Edav, you made my day! :) If Whedon does the WW movie, we're good to go. (Which reminds me, I still haven't picked up a copy of the Serenity DVD). And right on for SC2! :)

I enjoyed Daredevil some but Elektra was very bad.

I like Jennifer Garner, but she has one emote: intense. Her "soft emotional" and "scared shitless" emotes look just like "intense".

Not a Marvel character, but a well-done, non-Hollywoodized Wonder Woman or Green Lantern would be interesting. And I thought they botched Daredevil - it came close but just wasn't immersive. The Elektra spinoff was trash. (sigh)

I've felt happy since they did a good job on Miller's Sin City. That alone has kept me content for a while, though I do wish they would do a non-animated Spawn one day. That whole "demon from hell with a soul" idea has such visceral appeal.

Ahem...

Have you seen the Director's Cut of the Daredevil movie? I liked it much better. It's not just longer, it's like a whole different take on the movie.

John Cox Writing Sgt. Rock
Source: The Hollywood Reporter
April 19, 2006

John Cox has been hired to write Sgt. Rock, an adaptation of DC Comics' World War II adventure series being produced by Joel Silver for Warner Bros. Pictures, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Sgt. Frank Rock was the leader of his infantry unit, Easy Company. He first appeared in a 1959 issue of "Our Army at War." In 1977, with the character's steadily rising popularity, the comic was renamed "Sgt. Rock" and ran until 1988.

The property has long been in development at Warners, with such writers as Brian Helgeland, John Milius, David Peoples, Jeffrey Boam and Steven De Souza having tackled the adaptation.

My two favorite comic series are... VERY UNLIKELY to ever be made into movies.

Transmetropolitan and The Invisibles...

Yeah. Unlikely. :D

I'm unable to get sound on the Ghost Rider trailer. :(

A good info source for comic based movies is http://www.superherohype.com/

I'd also like to see a Sandman movie, but wouldn't really have high hopes for it being done well. One comic based movie we're highly unlikely to see...Milk & Cheese :p http://www.houseoffun.com/milkandcheese/index.html

Comics Continuum is also a good place to read about comic books and any movies, television shows or video games that are made from them.

now the real question is: when can we expect to see a JTHM movie?

yes, this would rock like no other thing has rocked before.. or at least be pretty darn cool. :D

it would NEED to be shot in black & white, not to mention we would need small Happy Noodle Boy clips thrown in for good mesure. ;)

plus, they could probably find someone to play NNY in some Goth/Industrial club somewhere. (like Albion in NYC or QXTs in New Jersey)

oh, and speaking of odd comic movies that didn't go well.. The Crow was a major disappointment for me. i was reading the comic well before it was rumored to be going to the big screen and well.. feh.. it lost almost all of it's mood and poetic pace.

Loved the first one. Thought it was a decent adaptation, still not as good as the books tho. The 2nd was a bit more "violent" but lacked something. And the 3rd I just avoid. Heh, kinda like the Highlander movies!

Also keep an eye out for Superman Returns, Iron Man, Fantastic Four 2, Ant-Man, Captain America, Hulk 2, Nick Fury and Thor, all in the works from Marvel.

Doesn't look like there will be a shortage on the superhero franchises any time soon.

I hope DC gets off their butts and makes some movies from their Vertigo lines.

Superman cool, Iron man cool, Fantastic Four... no thanks, Ant man WHY?!, Captain America cool, Hulk AGAIN WHY?!, Nick Fury Whats the point? Thor cool.
