THIS movie looks sweet!!! Loved the comics!!! Gonna love the movie!!! I can hardly wait till February!!

i remember hearing about this a while back.. nice to finally see a trailer!

looks like we may see yet another good comic to movie adaptation. with X3 possibly being the end of the Xmen movies, i guess they neded a new franchise.

besides Spidey, which is a giant in and of itself. i'm sure we'll be seeing a part 4.. you can't do Spidey movies like this without Venom.

but in any case, Ghost Rider will easily convince me to spend money on a trip to my local theater.

Well I don't know about the comic but that trailer sure looked good.

Awesome! I remember seeing photos of the bike awhile back, and I was ready to buy a ticket on the strength of that alone. I used to read the comics-- this looks pretty amazing. Can't wait, I'll be there with a big bucket of popcorn!

Actually from what I've read they are talking about doing a Wolverine movie and a Magneto movie.

Also keep an eye out for Superman Returns, Iron Man, Fantastic Four 2, Ant-Man, Captain America, Hulk 2, Nick Fury and Thor, all in the works from Marvel.

Doesn't look like there will be a shortage on the superhero franchises any time soon.

I hope DC gets off their butts and makes some movies from their Vertigo lines.

Erm, Jonquille, Cybin said good comic->movie adaptations.

There's no way anything following up to last summer's "Fantastic Four" movie could qualify.

I'm not critiquing them, just listing them.
I tend to save my judgement on movies until after I've seen them.

You mean like Hellblazer aka Constantine?

Also, there's been talk off and on about doing Death: The High Cost of Living. And they REALLY need to do a Sandman movie.

I had very high hopes for Constantine, being an old Hellblazer fan, but those hopes died as soon as I heard who they cast and how they changed Jon. Bleh. Like they couldn't have found a weathered, chainsmoking, cynical Englishman anywhere?

Somewhere around here I have a copy of a Sandman script based off the Doll's House line. It's a decent script, but needs some work.. The script is a few years old now, and I have no idea why it never went into production. Maybe with the new boom in comic-movie popularity someone will pick it up again.

Some others I'd like to see are Black Orchid, Shade The Changing Man, Death, Doom Patrol, and some of Neil Gaiman's other works.

While I thought Keanue did a good job and I enjoyed the movie, I only have a passing familiarity with the comic book. But being a comic book fan I can completely sympathize. I went through the samething when Tim Burton's Batman came out. Of course, had I known that there was so much worse to come....*shudder*

I really kind of liked Constantine. As with Kiamat though, it's probably because I'm not that familiar with the original comic. I was really fascinated by Tilda Swinton's protrayal of Gabriel. And Keanu is always good eye candy.

I loved her portrayal of Orlando and I think its her unique combination of beauty and androgyny that made her such a great Gabriel.

if they ever did Doom Patrol, i would hope it would be the last version and not the current incarnation. i'd also like to see The Brotherhood of Dada included in said movie..

between Doom Patrol and Shade alone i was strongly influenced in my art and poetry.

Not a Marvel character, but a well-done, non-Hollywoodized Wonder Woman or Green Lantern would be interesting. And I thought they botched Daredevil - it came close but just wasn't immersive. The Elektra spinoff was trash. (sigh)

I've felt happy since they did a good job on Miller's Sin City. That alone has kept me content for a while, though I do wish they would do a non-animated Spawn one day. That whole "demon from hell with a soul" idea has such visceral appeal.

In the words of the ever wise Brodie from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, "After 'X-Men' hit the box office all the studios started buying up every comic property they could get their dirty little hands on."

I personally am waiting for Hulk 2 and Daredevil 2.

Ooh! How about Hulk vs. Daredevil? That would be whole new levels of suckiness!

Joss Whedon of Firefly and Buffy fame was, the last I read, wanting to do a Wonder Woman movie they just need a script and to find an actress to play her. Todd McFarlane wants to do another Spawn live-action movie and as far as I know there is going to be another Sin City movie.

I enjoyed Daredevil some but Elektra was very bad.

now the real question is: when can we expect to see a JTHM movie?

If Marvel produces a Superman movie, I think DC might have a thing or two to sue about it.
