I don't really see the parallel. Vivianne is asking a question. You said "Give it up already", and then went on about "dead horses" and needing "new drama", which was not a question.

No one has to "be careful" of me, anymore than they have to "be careful" of you. We're basically "guilty" of the same thing - you asked us to stop talking about something. I asked you to stop reading and replying to threads that bother you, pointing out the cognitive dissonance in doing so.

OT has always got some obsessed folks going on about Bush & Cheney, abortion, ID, etc. - they drive me nuts some days - but I simply ignore 'em for the most part rather than bouncing into the threads to tell them to "give it up already" (either side of any given issue). I can tell by the title that it's another one of "those threads", so why bother? Not to mention, I would just be bumping the thread, and adding more drama and irony.

There is a difference too - at least the complaining about resmods will taper off and die eventually. Do you think we'll ever see an end to the political and religious battles going on in OT? I don't, and those battles get quite personal at times, where as the resmod hullabaloo was mainly a critique of a system. Sure, a couple of people have gone at it like mindless battering rams, and targetted specific resmods, but the majority of us raised concerns about the program, its planning, implementation, and execution, not to mention training, which is my personal nitpick.

For what it's worth, and I told Gabe this too - I am sorry for reacting so negatively. I wasn't in the best of moods that day, and I took your posts (and Gabe's) too personally. I think, that at least in part, it had to do with the general nature of said posts. In other words, I felt that it would have been better to have addressed the mega-whiners themselves, rather then just telling everyone to be quiet about it. Let the community work it through it's system, so to speak.

Private discussions – the forums are a public area for the Second Life community’s use. Individuals who have a dispute with each other have other channels of communication to discuss their differences or communicate – private messaging, IM within Second Life, or chatting within Second Life. Also, threads that are addressed to a single individual or group are inappropriate on the forums, this includes slander or "naming names" in a posts title, starting polls about a particular resident or group, etc.

CORRECTION: THANKYOU to who did report this, I was let know afterwards. My apologies, my admin controls were not set up to get notifications from ALL these forums... will be correcting this tonite. Cheerio!
