"I purposely left those people who say they are vegetarian but still eat fish and fowl out as a separate choice in the poll."

No you didn't. You left milk and eggs in, but not fish and fowl.

Vegetarian: can mean you don't eat any meat, can mean you eat no meat except fish, can mean you eat no meat except fish and chicken, etc. You can eat milk, eggs, cheese, etc and still be a vegetarian.

Vegan: can eat NO meat whatsoever, and NO animal-derived products: no milk, cheese, eggs, etc.

If you eat fish, Jopsy, you are not a vegan. You are a vegetarian who doesn't eat dairy, etc.

If you eat fish and chicken, you are NOT a vegetarian. Vegetarians don't eat meat at all. Plain and simple.

Like I said, those who say they are vegetarian and still eat meat are just picky omnivores that like to pretend they are vegetarians for some reason.

Someone who only eats fish and chicken would fall under the "or whatever" part of the first choice.

The only reason I say "vegan plus fish and fowl" is because it's faster than saying that I'm omnivore, but I can't have anything with butter, milk, cheese, yogurt, honey, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, lard, pig, ... in any form ... but fish and chicken are okay so long as everything else is vegan."

At least peanuts are okay.

Some people do consider "no meat except fish" as vegetarianism. I personally don't agree with it, but I'm not in charge of defining the word.

Saying "I am gay" is quicker than saying "I am attracted to this, this and this, and I find these attributes usually, but not always, in men", but it is not as accurate. Sure, it works, but people will go "but I thought you said you were gay" when I oggle the cute woman with a whip, just as we're going "bwuh?" when you say you're vegan, yet you eat fish.

Has anyone heard of breatharianism? Basically people who survive not on any form of food.

The proper word for semi-vegetaranism is pescetarianism.

I don't eat anything with a face, which is mainly why I couldn't eat the goat here at easter... it was just pretty gross seeing it turn on the spit while it was staring at me.

Luckily cheeseburgers don't have faces.

Haven't eaten at a McDonalds in... must be 6 years now, and that was because I needed to buy a meal there and weigh the packaging:food ratio for a science class.

One thing I will miss here is Goody's... wow they have good burgers.

I don't eat meat every day, but I do love it when I can get it in a good meal. I had the best chicken the other day... it was in mustard sauce with rice. *droools*

I'm omnivore - on occasion I'll eat meat but lately I don't care for the taste much (it was like chewing on wet cardboard). I'm on a new anti-seizure med that makes everything taste very, very weird and the only things that I really feel like eating are fish, salad and strawberrys. Go figure.

I had a beloved diet coke the other day and it tasted like carbonated cardboard, I thought the date was bad but it was just my wacked out taste buds. Normally I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE bacon. I almost choked at the smell last week.

So I guess when strawberrys are out of season I'll be down to fish and salad. The good side to this is that I'm losing a bit of weight. :)
