you really need to climb out from under that rock of yours, go to a park or something. I could tell you of dozens of places where the only "urban sprawl" you'll see is a barn or two. If you like the UK so much, move there. Nothing is stopping you, oh wait you'd rather preach on your "situation" than actually do something to change it.

Ok I did what you said. Went to A Battlefield Park. On all sides of this park were roll upon roll of Bush supporters. er I mean houses.

Only a few states have stopped Urban Sprawl from spinning out of control. States like Tennessee encourage Urban Sprawl

the US probably is one of, if not the, best place to immigrate to if you're from a 3rd or 2nd world country. One of the biggest reasons I can say this with confidence is, putting it bluntly, the US economic powerhouse consistently blows Europe's economy away.

Since the US economy is now running on credit, it's a false powerhouse and one that's going to come crashing down before too long...

When was the US a symbol of hope to Britons?

I sort of looked up to the states, the last time they had an honest man in the Whitehouse.......

But that was a long time ago.
Now that honest man builds houses for the homeless.

As for the historic sites in England, yeah yall have only been around for 500 some odd years longer than the US. You also lived in one of the newest sections of our country. Come down here to the South or up in the Northeast if you want US historical sites.

There are a wealth of historic sites throughout the British isles, dating from the Neolithic period onwards.

Oh, and BTW, this thread is about the UK as a whole, calling the UK England is about as assinine as calling the USA Pennsylvania.

I believe I do understand that Europeans are snobs for the most part

I would reply with some stupid and ignorant generalisation regarding Americans, but... oh forget it.

I never said there wasn't infact I said there were more than the US, and it only makes sense that there would be more in the UK you've been around alot longer. Now if you will notice I have used the term UK more than I have used the term England.

I left the United States to return to the UK for a better life for my daughter - how does that fit in with your world view?

Sounds a bit like saying "I've decided to smoke 40 a day in order to improve my health".

LONDON (AFP) - People in Britain view the United States as a vulgar, crime-ridden society obsessed with money and led by an incompetent president whose
Iraq policy is failing, according to a newspaper poll.

I'd say they're dead on.

But remember.... Bush isn't very popular in America, either.

Who cares how big the nation is, At least they do not have a Dictator. And besides most of the scenery in the United States is filled with Urban Sprawl.

Hey now, people LOVE that urban sprawl.
