These are very beautiful! If I were you, Ulrika, I would frame that one of Neuraltenberg and display it there (as if you hadn't already thought of that, huh).

I, too, put in cat, but I got two drastically different things.

Alas, I don't have Photoshop, or PaintShop Pro. Is there any other way to capture these things?

Alright well i'm sure the suspense is killing... both of you, so here we go! :D

1: Final Fantasy, I believe it's either 4 or 5... I can't tell because I have only played 6+ all the way through.

2: Metroid! I liked how that one turned out with the prior picture of Samus posing ending up looking like it's reflected in the helmet of the next picture.

3: Na naa na na na na na na na na na na naaa Katamari Damacy!

4: Earthbound! I've been playing this again recently, though on an emulator since my SNES is at home. I love this game so much... can't wait for the sequel (yes there is gonna be one for real this time!)

5: Haha I was sneaky with this one. This is the map screen in Morrowind. Looks like the SE section of Vvardenfell, Vivec would be just past the lower left corner.

6: Fallout, I think 1 though the differences in the interface are similar enough between the two that I could be mistaken... another game I love and am waiting for the sequel to eagerly. Though, since Bethesda has pushed back the release of Oblivion to April... i'm not holding my breath for Fallout 3 to come out anytime soon.

7: Bloodlines, specifically one of the promo arts they used and also on the box, but not actually ingame. That's the female PC malkavian in the light leather armor. Anyone who likes RPGs or vampire games, or even complex FPS should get this game if they haven't looked into it. It's fantastic.

I'll leave 8 and 9 for a little later :)

In MacOS use the "Grab" utility located at "/Applications/Utilities/Grab.app".

In WinXP hit the "PRNT SCRN" button, open up "Paint", and select "Edit -> Paste" to paste your screen capture therein. (I haven't used Windows in a looooong time so this information might be dated. :))

Coco, all "Print Screen" does is take a screenshot of the screen and copy it to the clipboard. You will have to paste it in some image program, such as Paint Shop Pro or Paintshop or even MS Paint, which Windows will come with. Only problem is that the image will be HUGE -- the size of your screen. The images you see have been resized, which you can do in MS Paint (it just won't look as good). Try that!

I'll let a few more people guess (if they wanna) and i'll tell the answers :)

In the meantime here's two more, just to stay on topic. And I do play games enough that I should dream about them, except for the not dreaming at all thing.

That looks a lot like Link in picture 8 but the angle doesn't look much like a Zelda, sa maybe Soul Calibur 2 or Smash Bros?

God knows about pic 9, it looks like something I'd recognise if I knew it.

I gave this thread 5 stars. Thanks for the link, Ulrika! I've already got half the people I know hooked on it, and I redid the signs in my store using these images.

Thanks for the help, y'all. I can try printscreen, and I'm also trying to download that Irfanview.

You can do it with GIMP as well. Just click File, Acquire, Screen Shot, select the window only option (unless you want to capture your whole desktop) and then drag the crosshairs into the window you want to snap.

Nothing I have tried has given me a recognisable image. In fact when I entered the word 'trombone', for most of the time I had a black screen, and then towards the end a few faint pink lines appeared.

It will keep changing if you give it long enough, Selador. I've gotten the black screens as well, but it will eventually begin to shift to something else. Unless, I think, you choose something so obscure it doesn't hit on many images.

I grabbed a couple of what it came up for me :)

Last two, i'll see if I can find something that looks cool using an abstract concept though. I haven't tried that yet.

8: Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. It's not an ingame screenshot, it's a poster that was made for it. I actually have that poster, which is how I recognised it. Link is in the middle, with navi being the little orange dot to the upper left of him, and Sheik to the right of him... and tons of moblins and stalfos coming up to get them. [/geek]

9: Ogre Battle! This is a screen of the SNES version, though the N64 version was a lot of fun as well. I heard they released the orginal for Playstation also, though I haven't seen it anywhere. One of my all time favorite games that I don't own :(

And just for fun, Originality
