Pancake Day - HOW DO YOU EAT YOURS?!

Lemon and Sugar is the ONLY way!!!

I haven't done a poll, as a) i'm lazy, b) I can't think of enough answers, c) I dunno how americans eat their pancakes!!!

So:

HOW DO YOU EAT YOURS?

Ham and cheese, rolled up

With butter, syrup and powdered sugar...mmmmm Great now I'm hungry and lunch isn't for an hour and a half.

I like mini chocolate chips sprinkled into the batter once the pancake is poured onto the griddle. Then, once they reach peak perfection, I dip em in maple syrup. *bolts off to the kitchen to see if she has any Bisquik for a pancake lunch*

Butter and syrup.

I'm a freak because I hate tons of "additions."

I get subs that are turkey with lettuce, cheddar and mustard. I get sundaes with chocolate syrup and one kind of sprinkles. Cheeseburgers have lettuce, cheese, and maybe bacon. Cereal stays on its own with no bananas or strawberries or anything.

Keep your "powdered sugar" and your "lemon" and your ... "ham and cheese?"

I don't really care. Plain is fine. It's just an excuse to eat more bacon anyway. Mmmmm. Bacon.

From the griddle, plain, with bare hands. Mostly. You may think I'm kidding but really I am that kind of pervert.

On the times I don't, real maple syrup only; that corn syrup facsimilie tastes like Coca-Cola and leaves a gummy aftertaste (afterfeel?).

<insert pancake drama here> You plain pancake eaters really disgust me! What are you anyway? Perverts, that's what I think! <end pancake drama, move along folks, nothing to see here>

I prefer belgian waffles, but for pancakes, I like them different ways depending on my mood.

The basic tried and true is delicious too. (I agree, it's gotta be REAL maple syrup)
Never tried the ham and cheese roll, not sure I want to. :/

I like em with butter n' jam, or fruity syrup, powered sugar and strawberries is good too, warm compote (apricot please), the list is endless...

Many of us here at work are going there for lunch today...I have no idea what my choice will be today.

mmm, I eat my fluffy buttermilk pancakes with butter and syrup, sometimes maple, sometimes blackberry



Don't ya know, powdered sugar is for the french toast!



Oh and add some sausage in there so I can dip it in the maple syrup!

Lemon juice and sugar. I *always* forget Pancake Day - I think the last time I remembered it was about twenty years ago. Next year I *will* remember - I *will*.

This is the best IMO.

Americans don't eat pancakes though and have no idea what they are.
They eat "hotcakes" which are bready-doughy things that are completely unlike an actual pancake (not that they aren't good too).

Lemon and Sugar?? You got me on that one hun... My nanny (whom I miss dearly) was a silly Brit (and her daughter... and thus partially me as well) and never mentioned Lemon and Sugar! Sure... crazy things like her Bubble & Squeak.... but no lemon and sugar

But as for your tasty question.... Over here in Canada (Quebec)... a place plentiful with the maple trees.... Maple Syrup is the only way to go..... pure... straight from the sugar shack... pored on snow... made in to candies.... and specially on pancakes.... yummy maple syrup for me.... and some butter to boot

Of course... you can always make extra pancakes to eat cold later as a snack... then I'd eat em plain.

I've never, ever heard of 'Lemon Juice & Sugar' on pancakes???

How is this done?

Is the Lemon Juice poured over the pancakes like syrup, or lightly sprinkled?

Is the sugar powdered sugar or crystals?

Are the pancakes of the Buttermilk variety, or we're talking potato pancakes here?

Normally *I* sprinkle the sugar lightly over the pancake then drizzle with lemon juice, roll in to a tube and then eat

Unfortunately due to me being UBER ill and not having ANY taste buds, I forewent Pancakes and will save them for when I can taste again

And for the record: Potato Waffles are NOT waffley versatile and they suck arse!

Pancake day? I swear I thought Abramelin was making it up!!!
