This forum used to be secular until a small group of renegade Jezoids popped in to try out their advanced forum witnessing techniques. So far, I think most SLers have been converted except for Chip Midnight, who is a robot, and Seth Kanahoe, who is in actuality a diety.

Puleeeeze. The exact opposite is what is happening here. There are 20 times as many threads started bashing Christianity as supporting it and it is usually the same small group of prople starting them.

I'd like to point out that in SL on Monday, somebody chastised me for "not being suddle". After conceding the point and explaining that I'm "too accertive", to which he agreed, I decided that suddle is my favorite word.

You were talking to Bush's speech writer? I'm still waiting for my favorite word, assurate.

It sounded to me as if any religion she may have had wasn't detectable from her original post.

Well, ok. Thats fine then, but in the future could you post what you mean the first time so we don't have to go back and forth trying to figure it out.

If you say:

From: Kevn Klein
The funny thing is, the threads talking about God weren't started by people professing religion.

when you mean:

From: Kevn Klein meant to say
The funny thing is, the recent threads talking about God that I'm thinking of weren't started by people who profess their religion clearly in their original posts.

people are probably going to continue to misunderstand you.

I'm pretty sure most understood my post. If you need me to clearify my posts in the future, feel free to ask. I think my post was exactly what I meant. You just misinterpreted it, imho.

Ha ha! That exchange just captured Kevn in a nutshell. :D Now we know why his eyes are brown.

nope, when I read

I read it to mean: The religious people aren't the ones starting all the threads about God.

When it was pointed out to you that you started many of the threads about God, you narrowed it down to the 3 most recent threads, which was not at all obvious to me from your first post.

When I pointed out that at least one of those three threads were started by someone who was religious, you backpeddled and said that you meant that you coudn't tell if they were religious by their initial post. Again, this was not what I read in your original post, your original post where you said that the people starting those threadswere not religious (i.e. professing religion).

HOWEVER, I do think I understood your original post. I just think your follow-up posts are making excuses when people call you on incorrect assertions.

I didn't back peddle, I explained it to you. Most already understood the thread was talking about the current threads about God, so I didn't need to clearify it to them.

I further had to explain to you that by their post it was clear they weren't religious people, as I stated in my post. Neither of the thread starters are professing a religion, as I said.

So, it was only a matter of me not spelling out what is already understood. But, I'll keep explaining what was clear to others, because I want it to be clear to any who didn't follow it.

btw, I knew you understood my post, and you were being contrary, but I played along :)

This is what happens when one starts talking about people within a thread rather than the issues of the thread. You admits you knew what I meant, but didn't like my follow-up answers to your questions. I said.....

That was my original post that so upset you. In that post I state the people who stated the God posts we were discussing were started by people who weren't professing religion.

That was absolutely the facts. Neither of those threads were started by people who were professing a religion.

This is how flames are born, I hope that wasn't your goal. Ignore me if my opinion upsets you.

I'd hop in and stir the waters, but I will instead just state that my personal views on religion are that religion is just that. Personal. I don't need to go around and tell others details about my religion, demand that they attend services, nor do I find it necessary to throw my books of faith at them to read. Unfortunately, certain religions seem to take an avid interest in doing all of the above, leading me to want to post a bumper sticker saying "god, save me from your followers!".

Oh, and btw, I'm AmerIndian Shamanistic by religion, so count me among the pagan heathens please! :)

Excellent. We get to see two (of the five) tricks employed over and over by Kevn in the forum.
  1. Individual points out an obvious mistake made by Kevn.
  2. Kevn engages in intense rhetorical gyrations to avoid admitting his error (Trick #2).
  3. Individual voices disgust towards a person who is unable to admit an obvious mistake and leaves discussion.
  4. Kevn ponders aloud how he might have upset this individual, thus creating the illusion that the discussion disintegrated due to the individual's emotional state instead of Kevn's inability to admit he is wrong (Trick #4).

Two questions:

1. Did anyone else interpret Kevn's posts the way I did?

2. Should I bother trying to explain it again?

Whaaat???? Does this mean that you aren't out there waiting by the church doors for people to come out so that you can thump them on the head with a white sage stick and drag them off to a sweat???

And you don't have a "My spirt animal is ____ what's yours?" sticker on your car?

What the hell kind of shamanistic AmerIndian are you anyway? Don't you know you can have your Shamanistic status revoked for not promoting the cause? :D

Ulrika,

Your opinion would matter, if you didn't take every opportunity to bash me and/or my faith. You are hardly considered a neutral bystander here.. lol :) But I still love you... :)
