You guys can worship me, I'm cute and easily appeased with shiny stuff, and the only thing that would invoke my wrath is eating the last cookie. :D

Maeve, maybe we can be in league with one another--sorta like the Wonder Twins?

We smack magic rings. . .

In unison: Wonder Twin powers, activate!!
Me: Form of "The Last Cookie"
You: Shape of "Bling"

I see this as a possible plan for world domination. :D

Stop being such a victim. You made a mistake, I found it hilarious. By repeating it and expanding upon it I dont mean that you are stupid or anything, I just mean that I found it hilarious.
Lighten up, the world is a circus and we are the clowns :)

I'm with Eggy on this one, Cocoanut. Lighten up. His post was perfectly appropriate for this thread (thank you btw, Eggy :) ) You really need to laugh at yourself a bit more.

You know, if you put a white beehive hairdo on her and squint, she is the spitting image of Kendra. That is eerie!

YES OMG. I once taped that from MTV and watched it over and over. The whole seashore thing, and the symbolicism of the glass wall. And that chess game! :) There's that lovely audio bridge in the song where there's an analogue synth warble and it sounds so sad, yet so desperately melodic.

I'm not being such a victim, Eggy! You know perfectly well you already had me on edge by constantly spelling my name CoKo, which you later explained was not some sort of odd political put-down, but was short for COcoanut KOala.

So don't make things worse.

Cristiano, it's because I made a point of learning to type your name as you stated you wanted it typed, and it made me incapable of typing "Christian" right without even knowing it!

Since I was a such a good girl to train myself that way so I wouldn't offend you, it was especially aggravating for Eggy to then take it and riff on it endlessly, at my expense. Especially since he'd been irritatingly spelling my name "CoKo" (which I thought he meant in a bad way).

Now neither of it is so much here or there that I care that much, personally. But I do care about accuracy and about fairness to people. And that does NOT make me a victim. Objecting to mistreatment doesn't make you a victim; it makes you the opposite of a victim. It's not standing up for yourself that makes a person a victim.

Constantly doing things to people, and when they complain, accusing them of acting like victims, or wanting to be victims, is ridiculous, childish, boorish, bullying, and cloddish, and needs to frickin' STOP. Did I mention childish? You just don't get to pick endlessly on people, then tell them they have some sort of persecution complex when they object. Maybe they did it in some people's high schools or something, but we aren't in high school now. I hope.

That said, I'm happy with Eggy's explanation about the CoKo thing, now that I have it.

coco

P.S. Or there's the short explanation: Everything is always Cristiano's fault!

P.S. Cristiano, too bad y'all didn't know me in some other game or mileau, or irl, or even know me IN this game, rather than just in these snake-pits of forums. And Cory (below), I just really don't need more of that, you dig?

Finding mistreatment in everything, even where there is none, is where the victimization comes in. I could see the meaning of CoKo from a mile away as being your assumed first and last SL names combined into a little nickname. Nothing disrespectful, yet you saw the worst intent in it from the start, even though there was none. Your misspelling of Christianity also provided Eggy with a funny way to make reference to me - it was not a dig at you, good lord. That is the reason you are often accused of playing the victim - you seem intent on being perceived as victimized sometimes. There is no denying you have experienced your share of problems here - but some of it is also your own overreaction to things.

No one gives a damn about your coko, Ulrika. Don't you know that the purpose of the Second Life Forums is to promote discussion and education about Second Life?

Do any of these proffered belief systems involve ritual sex acts? 'Cos I'm pretty sure that's off limits for me.

Well, you are right about that. (Though I had no idea of Eggy's penchant for combining names, so I definitely couldn't see it from a mile away.) My only choice, however, is to decide all of a sudden that all these people nevert mean anything bad at all (including all the ones who do).

That, though, may be in fact a good solution to the whole thing.

Eggy does not have a "penchant for comibining names". Your SL name is Cocoanut Koala. CoKo is obviously a combination of the two. Compared to some other names you have been dubbed over time, that one seems rather innocuous. Anyway, it probably is a better policy to assume no malice until it is blatantly obvious that there is. The alternative, of finding everyone's motivations suspect and in bad faith, is certainly no great way to live.
