You took out the 'you must be dense' remark. Good thing :D

My finger slipped so I corrected it :)

Uh, Susie, you're making no sense.

Complaining about an act is not encouraging an act.

"Any child" cannot read these forums. They are not a public set of forums, they require a passworded log in.

If a parent lets their kid read these forums, then that is not the fault of the adults who are following the rules and using their privilege to post here.

Stand him on a couple of crates first, so they don't miss.

They could always use the electric high chair.

This sort of rampat excusing of sexual molesters has been epidemic lately as recounted in an earlier thread. This is just a new convenient excuse to let a child molester go free. It's disgusting and it needs to end.

My favorite bit from the actual article:

The judge's reasoning confounded Amy Miller, legal director for the Nebraska chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"I have never heard of anything like this before," she said.

So, if the ACLU thinks it's crazy, then.......what does that mean? I think I'll defer that one to Kiamat. Ready? OK, GO!

Just think of how many more child molesters and other sexual predators we can get out of jail now! This is fantastic! Parents, keep your kids locked up, because child molesters won't be if we have anything to say about it!"

Who is excusing sex abusers? Some of us would like to see this crime brought under control and the solution is not to get on a self righteous soap box.

One solution is to get children to tell adults what happened to them so the crime can be investigated. Screaming hysterically about the shame of it all does not encourage children to talk.

If this guy came into my office and applied for a job it would be illegal for me to say no I can't hire you because you're short and you might not be safe. I would be legally required instead to accomodate the man's height by making changes in my workplace.

How is it any different in prison? Did this judge suffer some sort of massive head injury five minutes before the verdict? There are men in prison who are in wheelchairs, men who are too skinny to fight larger men, men who are too heavy to run from lighter men and yes guess what ... men who are short!

This judge needs a huge dose of reality. She should absolutely be required to meet personally with the victims and their families and be forced to explain her verdict to them and seek their understanding and compassion for this poor helpless stature impaired pervert. (last bit was sarcasm for the sarcasm impaired :P )

Personally I think child molestation should be a capital crime. Psychologists say most child molesters can't be 'cured', and it pretty much prevents the child from ever having a 'normal' life, effectively destroying it.

Nobody has been screaming hysterically, so I'm not sure what your point is, except to find something to somehow criticize about being fucking disgusted by what happened here.

I would venture a guess that it's about control and wanting to be seen as an "expert".

From: Amanda Majestic
I say stand him on some crates, then miss on purpose. making the bastard beg for you to shoot him in the head. then somebody needs to find that judge and have her meet the children he molested, then maybe she'll realize a sicko like that needs to be locked up without hesitation

From: ZsuZsanna Raven
I wouldn't miss with my Mossberg 12 guage that's for damn sure.

From: Puck Goodliffe
My question is - is this person too short to be impaled?

My answer is - no. Vlad had it right.

From: Ursula Madison
There's always the rack... stretch the molesting bastard out until he's tall enough for prison.

No Hysteria here, just rational arguments against one of the most f-'d up judicial rulings I've heard of. or not

You have a different standard for "screaming hystericaly" on the forums than I do.

I'll admit that I don't know all the facts of this case. However, unless there was a 3rd party who witnessed the incident, one could assume that the victim did speak up about being molested. She basically did the right thing but the judge made a bassackwards decision based on misplaced sympathy. Now, we have this asshole back on the street, and I'm certain he will find another victim in no time. If anything, decisions like this will most likely make kids not speak up, because they will think nothing will happen to the molester if they do.

I tried SO hard not to respond to this, but I just couldn't let it go.

From: Susie Boffin
People can respond any way they want. Did you read my post? I think not. By stating it is a repulsive and disgusting act (which I happen to agree with) in a public forum that any child can read only further damages the child and doesn't exactly make her want to report what happened.

Sometimes the realities just don't reflect what you personally think should happen.

Is this the same "expert" who advocated THIS only three months ago? ..

Susie Boffin

"I was inspired to post this by a thread about child sexual abuse. Let me tell you folks, that being spanked (beaten) by your own parent is far more traumatic for the child than being molested.

Don't take my word for it. Ask any kid."

Strangely, I expect a child reading YOUR response in a public forum, would have far worse consequences, than reading posts that shame the perpetrator, NOT the victim/survivor. Your post could be perceived by a child (and anyone else), as trivialising child sexual abuse. That's something you're quite happy for children in the forums to read?

No hysterical raving, just outrage over an outrageous sentence and utter contempt for a child molestor...

Etoile,

How dare you bring up the past nutty assertions to cast light on the nutty pseudo-expert assertion being presented here :)

Good find BTW!

Hah! Not good find, just something that utterly shocked me and was embedded in my mind when the statement was made. Some "experts" truly frighten me.
