Cheyenne County District Judge Kristine Cecava issued the sentence Tuesday. She told Richard W. Thompson that his crimes deserved a long prison sentence but that he was too small to survive in a state prison."

This is the most ridiculous thing I think I have ever heard. Awwww Lets make sure to take care of the poor child molestor so he doesn't get hurt...unfuckingbelieveable.

Such (pardon the pun) short-sighted thinking on the part of those "supporters" -- unless, of course, they're advocating the inclusion of special facilities in prisons to accommodate short people. The perpetrator's height didn't pose a challenge to him when he molested his victim, it shouldn't pose a challenge to his serving a real sentence.

I say stand him on some crates, then miss on purpose. making the bastard beg for you to shoot him in the head. then somebody needs to find that judge and have her meet the children he molested, then maybe she'll realize a sicko like that needs to be locked up without hesitation

I believe it was a particular judge who did this and not the entire state of Nebraska.

For parents I can tell you exactly what you should not be doing and that is to express these hysterical "hang them" opinions in front of your children if you ever want them to reveal that they were molested. All you are doing is to increase their sense of shame that they were involved in an act so revolting and repulsive to you.

Most child sexual abuse involves relatives and not random attacks by strangers. That is a fact.

The judge in this particular case is a disgrace to the bench and should be disbarred. Also, the person from the National Organization of Short Statured Adults should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for using the molestation of a child as a platform for trying to forward the rights of short people. I hope that someone has the decency to intervene here and sentence this man correctly. What a sad state of affairs.

Well, being how I'm 5'1" I get the idea behind all the problems that come with being that "tall", BUT it still didnt stop me from spending a weekend in a jail due to a nutcase Ex-GF. This judge is really Fk'd Up thinking this person should be free tho.

And yes, while spending my weekend in jail, many many years ago, I was offered "personal protection" due to my size, so there's No excuse for the judge to do this.

Note: I didnt take the "personal protection" which was a really DUMB thing to do! There are some really really REALLY BIG guys in there who are really ticked off at "the man" and they really aren't fond of College Boys either

SOOOOO glad it was only a few days.

This reminds me... I saw a tourism ad on TV for Nebraska yesterday. My first reaction was "Why the hell would I want to visit Nebraska?" Now there's a really good reason to stay away, as apparently it is now a haven for very small sex offenders.

I have yet to see a word about the victim of this crime. You are all so concerned about what you would do with the perpetrator of the crime and that is a shame because all you are doing is to encourage child sexual abuse by stating what a disgusting and shameful act it is. Children don't think the same way as adults and pointing out that they were involved in something so repulsive in no way encourages the child to report what happened. In fact it is quite the opposite.

I don't know the facts of this case but suppose it was her father, step-father, brother, uncle etc etc? Do you think she would want to see her father impaled on a long pole as one of you suggested? I think not.

I am hoping she is ok despite all of the shame pressed upon her.

People can respond any way they want. Did you read my post? I think not. By stating it is a repulsive and disgusting act (which I happen to agree with) in a public forum that any child can read only further damages the child and doesn't exactly make her want to report what happened.

Sometimes the realities just don't reflect what you personally think should happen.
