It's sad when I can say, gee, I'm glad I only paid $2.76 a gallon today... :(

Ok, I am not speaking to you. I am all jealous of your gas prices.

It just really sucks because due to my husband's job I am stuck in a small town of 1500, and it's 65 miles to the big town of 30,000 where my doctor/hospital/ped/dentist and all the big grocery stores are. I only go up there 2 a month, unless a kid gets sick or something comes up. But it is sucking up too much money. At least I can walk to the small friggen expensive grocery store when I run out of something, and the post office. The doctors in this area suck, the "hospital" is a joke, and the two dentists are not known for their great dental work. I would rather give birth in my car than at that hospital. Even if you are dying, you would ask the ambulance to drive you to the one 65 miles away. It's sad.

And yes, I am grateful I don't pay what some other countries have to pay for gas, but dammit it fucking sucks lately.

Oh, no, I hear you! I live on an island, in a town of about 1,700 people. There is one gas station on this island that has more expensive gas, but I'd really have to go out of my way to find it. But I spent over $30 filling up my tank today!

Wait, pissed as in drunk or pissed as in upset? Gas prices both upset me and drive me to drink, too. :(

Y'all better start getting adjusted to the idea that gas will become increasingly expensive.

I sympathize with your situation, Creamy - but I could turn around and complain about both my higher gas prices and MUCH higher home/rent prices, but what good would it do me?

Don't stress - it's not good for you or the baby. When's the due date?

July 31st.

I still stress, especially since I just quit my job. I know it will get worse as time goes on, and I will still bitch about it.

I suppose I could direct my energies at the baby name book I have and try to figure out a middle name to go with Kylie.

Any suggestions?

Mwa-hahahahaha!! Here in SW Pennsylvania we have a chain of grocery stores called Giant Eagle. They have these "frequent shopper" cards that you use when you shop there. After spending so much, you get 10 cents off a gallon of gas at their chain of Gas Stations. Gas here is about $2.75/gallon. I usually get 10-30 cents off a gallon with my card. :p

Its kinda funny tho- everyone was buying up all them big pickup trucks & H2's, and now I dont see as many. :D

BTW- anyone remember that late 70s/early 80s movie "Gas"??? :)

Dammit Tod, you just made me think of those signs up at various exits from the freeway - "Eat here and get gas"

$3.05 a F'ing gallon for regular unleaded.

The world is ending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, maybe not, but my pregnant ass is walking....and it won't quit raining. This just sucks. I know there is nothing I can do about it, but I can still be pissed.

My friend was sweet enought to send me a picture message on my cell phone because she just got gas. She was at my house about 2 hours ago and it was still at $2.99. She noticed the price when she drove by because she needed gas. I guess she should have gotten it then and not waited a few hours.

I would type a whole string of curse words directed at whoever runs the oil companies but I don't want to get moderated.

The High Gas Prices was one of the campaign promisses Puke George W. Bush promissed big oil. He Said he would look the other way while they Gouge(SP) the American PUblic with high gas prices... Notice how high they went up right after Boy George W. Bush stole the election in 2000 eh???

Cheapest petrol I can find within driving distance is 2.79/g. VERY cheap considering the 2.95++ I'm seeing everywhere else.

Instead of getting a job today, I went shoe shopping (I have been wearing the same pair for about 3 years and they're starting to look worse than the rest of my clothes). I must have used a quarter of a tank. I didn't buy anything except sorbet (and fuel). :0

Well, don't you wish you lived here in the UK then, Creami? You can buy a gallon of regular unleaded here for only £3.69. That's about $6.09 per gallon at current exchange rates...

Yeah, I'm not feeling a whole lot of sympathy either, since we pay roughly double the price Creami is bitching about.

Most of us did... The Americans don't like it though. For a rough estimate, a gallon is approximately 3 litres.

1 gallon is 3.7854118 liter.
1 US$ is 0.825218683 Euro
You pay $3.05 for 1 gallon
That's $3.05 for 3.7854118 liter
That's 2.52 Euro for 3.7854118 liter
that's about 0.66 Euro a liter.
I have to pay 1.41 euro a liter.

Do I feel sorry? Not if you're paying less then half of what the rest of the world is paying.
Some countries are trying to lower fuel consuption, to cut down on polution, so future generations will have a better world. Including your child.

(sorry, don't take it too personally. But if you call your gas "expensive" it makes me laugh..)

I thought about this just yesterday. When I can't afford to drive anymore, where do I put my son's child-safety seat? Does it make a convenient backpack? How are we going to move children? Anyone who has walked with a toddler or pre-schooler without a stroller knows it is like herding cats.
