As far as I can tell it is football, sex, baseball and computers in that order. Please correct me if I am wrong. :)

Sports is physical. It is the opposite of intellectual.

So ... sex and technology, sure.

I'm not an intellectual, but I am male.

Today I'm thinking about:

-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Hoping I don't dream about Resident Evil 4 again
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Will I find a car?
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-Matching textures and erasing seams
-I REALLY hate that part in Resident Evil 4 where you're trapped in the house with the spaniard and a hundred zombies start breaking through every single window and door of the house and just don't stop coming.
-I bought blackeyed peas for new year's even though I hate them... and I forgot to cook them. Does it still count if I eat them on January 2nd?

Hmmm Well oddly enough some of the most acclaimed moderen american literature is about baseball. Ultimately what you thinnk about is less important than the quality of the thought. it is the psuedo intellectual who feels that superficial remarks on profound topics are erudition, the wise man finds depth in a bubblegum wrapper.

Is the game really that scary?

Gabe I tend to agree with you. A psychiatrist friend of mine once said "thinking kills" and the more I think about it the more I.....something.

I've been having zombie dreams for years before I ever played this game. Since it is tapping into my subconscious mistrust and fear of society, yes.

However, it wouldn't be very scary if I turned off the volume (but then I couldn't hear them coming).

Eternal Darkness makes more creative use of the video game form to disturb the viewer than does RE, but RE4 plays better.

OK. The men I know who think about those things have a preference for them. But I also know some who don't care a stinker's cuz about baseball, and others whose knowledge of computers is equivalent to Mr. Scott's knowledge of an Apple Macintosh.

At the moment, my hubby thinks mostly about SL.

How will I script this,
how will I build that,
and then he'll go ahead and do it.

I must say (and I am very pleased) he thinks about me too, since every now and then I get an IM: Do you need anything from the kitchen?

*Sigh*, it's good to be loved :)

Anyone who spends a great deal of time thinking about organised professional sports could hardly be called an intellectual, male or female.
I love it!

No baseball or football for me, but the rest is fair game ;)

I've never really considered myself an intellectual, but I will say that my one true joy/hobby is learning new things. Once I understand enough about a topic to fake my way through it, I usually move on to the next. It doesn't make me a *master* of any particular subject, but I learn a little about lots of different things.

I think that's why I identify with Dianne's comment above. I'm all for doing something you enjoy, but for the life of me I can't understand why people frantically, desperately spend so much of their lives devoted to organized sports. I get bored out of my skull after 5 seconds.

Eggy's cat's breath smells like cat food. That, gas prices, and why there will be no peace until we have equal rights and justice. Aw, who am I kidding... Sports I could care less about, but yes - porn and technology pretty much so fill up the rest of my brain.

OK next question: Is it possible for someone who considers themselves an intellectual to be also generally humble?

PS this is not directed at the OP or any individual, serious question.

I don't see why not. If you were an intellectual, wouldn't you know it? I don't think the use of intellect requires that you be prideful and arrogant.

I think it's possible, although perhaps not that common. There's having intelligence, and being an intellectual, and rarely do the two meet.

Wait, are we talking about male intellectuals, or the more dominant themes of male anti-intellectualism?
