We have one of each. The manual is more fuel efficient and fun to drive unless you're in stop-and-go traffic and then it's (literally) painful.

Manual. Because an automatic in my car would be really, really stupid.

What do you have in your vehicle? I can only suspect that folks like Ingrid, Barnes and me have so diluted the pre-fab market that Juro's been forced into the cut-throat hybrid automobile industry. Ah, the end of an era. </melancholy></sarcasm> _____________________

Manual
01-13-2006 15:32
I would of had to answer it both, but I prefer manuals. Nothing like the smooth feel of a Hurst.

Driving an automatic to me is like having sex with a steel condom: the motion is the same but witout feeling anything.

I think with a steel condom you would feel something... it just wouldn't be pleasant

When I started driving all I knew how to drive was an automatic.
However during my college years car number three for me ended up being a manual transmission. So I had to learn how to drive that. Now, I have absolutely no desire to own a "point and push" car. I like feeling as though I have more control over my vehicle beyond using the brake. PS A steel condom sounds friggen painful, ouchies! |

I switch back and forth..every other car being manual. I have fun with the manual, but in traffic jams it sucks to high heaven.
Oddly enough, my car right now is a 2003 Mustang, with alot of zip to it, and it's an automatic. It's still fun to drive though ![]() _____________________

I've owned both, but the 2 cars I own now are automatic. On the other hand, If I had succumbed to temptation a few years ago, I would have a 6 speed manual Camaro.

I was pretending that I paged you to inform you about this automobile-themed thread as an explanation for your rapid appearance. It's confusing to you and the rest of the world but I assure you that I think I'm quite funny. ![]() ~Ulrika~ ROFL. If my brain was not currently in a state of tepid mush from the sheer volume of crap I have to deal with, I probably would've caught on. _____________________
