I couldn't make it through 30 seconds before I started giggling uncontrollably at the unbelievably saccharine intro. Were there unintentionally humorous songs later on? Or was it just 14 minutes of potential evidence for the inevitable stalking trial?

poor dude. heh. i have to say i both felt sorry and laughed at him. it was an AWFUL combination. maybe she left him for some reason other than the tape (he did thank her repeatedly for putting up with treating her badly...). Though I must confess, I once broke up with a fellow (well ceased dating him more like) because he insisted on continuously and tunelessly singing. He was a Chippendale dancer... but it still wasn't worth it.

It sorta reminds me of an old Simpsons episode. After getting screwed over yet again by Homer, Ned Flanders writes an overly nice letter to him. Homer reads it to the family. They have a nice laugh at Ned's expense. I'm sure the girl played this message back to her friends, and they thought it was funny.

Seriously, it is a lot of fun. It's by Tsui Hark. Find it if you can! He uses genre like Moulin Rouge uses cultural references. It's the only Tsui Hark movie I've seen and sincerely liked.
