Viva La Raza my Second Life compadres! So yesterday was the "Mega March" here in Dallas and boy was it fucking amazing. Before the event police expected about 20,000 people to show up, but there were rumors that as many as 200,000 might attend. Since some of the friends I am currently staying with are Mexican, they talked me into going along yesterday.

I about fell over when we got close to the starting point and realized that there were way more people than I have ever seen in my life. We were handed a little American Flag and it took about an hour after the march started for us to move. I learned little handy phrases to chant in Spanish like "Viva la Raza" and "Me Gringo es muey caliente."

It was really cool to see all these people protesting. As soon of you may know I am a Left-Wing, Liberal, Wacko Democrat, so I get off on stuff like this. I met alot of cool people and even ran into some dude who I slept with a few years ago. Who knew he was an illegal immigrant?!?

Anyway at the end of the day the police estimate as many as 500,000 people took part and they are calling it the biggest gathering in the history of Dallas. It was really fun and I hope others got to take part. :D

Here is a picture from the march. I am the little tiny speck on the left wearing white. Hehe.

Rick

Ick? What's it to you what other people do? It's not affecting you personally, so keep your intolerance to yourself.

I am lost. I am not used to biggots, is this person saying "ick" because I slept with another guy or because I slept with an illegal immigrant Mexican?

If it makes you feel any better I met him online and he was very clean and stuff. It is not like I picked him up on the corner, choosing him out of a line up of day workers.

Yep. I would have gone too but I decided to celebrate my quarter-hispanic heritage by sleeping in.

*ducks*

ACtually. I don't too well with crowds.

You know today is "Without a Mexican Day" in Dallas. Are you boycotting all stores and such today? You are not suppossed to spend ANY money. Well in your case you have to spend 25% less. :D

Hmm, I would have to spend 50% less.... but *laughs* don't think we can convince the store clerks of that when we go to the counter asking for our discounts. Dam. :D

Oh well, I haven't bothered to leave my house yet today anyway.

Actually it wasnt that bad. I think the high temp was like 78 yesterday and were all in white so it really was bearable. The big problem was there were only 60 port-a-potties for 500,000 people. :D

I've removed further personal attacks from this thread and left it open for further discussion. I understand this is a heated topic and I'd like to again remind everyone to please refrain from personally attacking one another.

Okay I have a question, not to sound like I am against it or anything being half mexican myself but Whats with everyone and the mexican flags... I live in a very heavly hispanic populated city most of which I have no doubt are here without papers seeing as I am right next to the border but I still don't get it why not spend a lil money and be here legaly it saves a lot of crapt from ppl in the long run.... though I do have to say I am against ANYONE that comes here illegally and being made legal just because the cause a stink only for one reason though its nothing against a majority is just if ppl can follow protocols that we have setup it throws everything into utter chaos. Though I am not exactly sure why the hispanic majority is marching other then the reason they want to illegals to be made legal and I am not goin act like I care much but I just think its kinda funny that when any other large majority marches no one cares much....

For the same reason people like to use run-on sentences. :D

Folks here have been protesting too, mainly Mexican students in the largely Mexican communities in the Valley. It's interesting to hear about ...
