The crowd is at attention. You walk out on to stage. The theme music playing is...

But since I should play along...

Tropical Timber Trade by Winterkaelte
The Reflecting God by Marilyn Manson
or
Mars by Gustav Holst

...Backstage it would be a choral (and only a choral) version of Barber's Adagio, maybe Butterfly Caught by Massive Attack, or Sandpaper Kisses by Martina Topley-Bird.

*Edit... No, Barber's Adagio would only be if I was completely alone. Backstage it would be the last two or Hell's around the Corner by Tricky.

Get a stack of horrible CD boomboxes, fill them with a bunch of CDs from Maladroit, Merzbow, Venetian Snares, Boredoms, Cranes, Lightning Bolt, Swans, Autechre, Kid606, etc. Meanwhile, load up a bunch of crappy VCRs with as many horrible kung-fu movies and 80s teen comedys as possible blaring all at once through cheap televisions. Maybe throw in a few pop radio stations from crappy alarm-clock radios. Bonus points for circuit bent toys. Record all of this. Pick any old 4:30 chunk from there. (PROTIP: Get a recording contract from V/VM Test Records at this point if you've made it this far.). The end.

You can also substitute dropping a mic in a blender for me, if you really want.

My theme music would be "Lock and Load" by Dennis Leary. ;)

Actually I used to play this game with my friends! We used to try to assign theme music to everyone.

Mine is apparently "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" by the Flaming Lips :o

See? This is what I wanted to invent! A "Theme Music" machine, like a lil Ipod. Only this one would detect the mood & situation of the user & play the appropriate music.

Anything by Tool.

Occasionally I have an Explosions in the Sky or a Godspeed You Black Emperor day, though.

I like a wide, wide range of music, and would have to have a soundtrack over a theme song. :) If forced to pick a theme song, I wouldn't be able to, at most I'd narrow it down to three.

Prayer by Disturbed

4 by Aphex Twin

Electrolite by REM
