Introducing Morpheus!
01-29-2006 11:13
This is our spoiled rotten kitty, Morpheus. We got him less then one year ago from our near local animal Shelter. We couldn't afford our local shelter. And we are glad we traveled a little further. He is one great cat. He understands a whole list of words already, words like, "Time for bed, neck scritchys, hammy ham, mommy and daddy and which is which.
When it is time for bed, we look up and yell, "Time for Bed". And whoosh, our kitty meets us there before we even make a move. He loves to come to bed with us. He lays down between my wife and I. Then when we start to fall a sleep he moves down near our feet.
He loves to have a taste of what we call people food. We know what foods not to give a kitty. Our past cats lived long lives. Meany lived 18 years, Petey lived 20, Stella 16, and our last one Chimera live 17. Our Morpheus is either 1 or 5 depending on if you believe the Humane soc. or the local vet. They each made a guess. He we found as a stray in Waterville, Maine.
When we got him he was almost hairless. They said his hair was so bad, you couldn't comb it out. so, they cut it all off. He looked awful and only seemed to have hair on his head.
But now he is a beautiful long haired cat, just as a Maine coon cat should be. So, everyone, meet Morpheus!!

Introvert,
I had a cat who would miaow at me if I opened the door for it to exit, and it was raining. I don't think he was complaining; I got the impression he was asking me to turn it off. As a bit of deductive reasoning I think that is a sign of intelligence rather that stupidity; certainly this particular cat was highly intelligent.

From: Tod69 Talamasca . I was more upset with him dying than she was. I really liked that rat. Rats have only a very short life span - between two and four years. Also they invariably seem to die of cancer; it's not often a rat will die of anything else. Putting the two facts together, I get the feeling that possibly they are badly affected by something on the grain that we give them, possibly insecticide.
