I rescued her, Jillian, while I was working in New Orleans Relief Efforts. She was in an aquaduct and when I finally talked her out, we formed an inseparable bond. And as far as great "tricks" she can do.... she's a cat... she sleeps and eats :) .

A charming little cross-breed male (German/Beauceron shepherd+something else) named Vulcain :D He'll be 2 end of April.

Not exactly a shelter dog, since he's the son of my MIL's dog, but the people who had him before us just left it at the local shelter the day they realized that taking in a 6-months old puppy right before having a baby was too much work for them. *grumbles*

4 Year old male black lab mix - from a Shelter
10 Year old female White Shepherd/Yellow Lab mix

I have doorwalls in my basement & living room. Even when locked, the male Lab knows how to unlock it, and open it with his nose.

If I could just teach him to close it I'd be set! :D

My two darlings... both of them passed away recently :(

Penny was a lab mix I got from a shelter, Zarak had been my companion since my teenage years.

Both of course the most beautiful, loving, intelligent... etc etc

Please also meet Mr Morso, my almost-dog :D
He's also from a shelter, a 12 year old unidentifiable mix from Spain who is half-deaf, ill (got stung by some spanish fly and caught a chronic disease), is missing a front tooth, does not like to walk... i know he seems kind of pathetic but i think he is CUTE! :D

I wanted to get him but when we actually wanted to take him home (the pic was taken when we met him first) our landlady changed her mind on allowing pets.
My bf wasn't too sad though...

My cat Josie. We got her from my sister who said the cat was deaf. She wasn't. She just didnt listen... typical of a cat. She's a bit fatter now. The cat... ok, my sister too.

Weird thing is, I'm allergic to cats.

What pets you guys have. Someday I hope to have a cat, maybe a polydactyl one. I think it's just heartwarming to share your home with a loving animal. :)

Here is my holy terror, Bronte. I was home from work (when I didn't work at home) with a migraine and I heard this little kitten crying outside. Went and looked, since it was driving me crazy, and she was at the top of a huge pine tree. I coaxed her down and she has been with me ever since.

Amber, those rats are simply adorable! My sister had rats for several years, and they were the sweetest things ever. They loved to perch on our shoulders!

Here's our cats, Tigerlily and Chloe. They're some strange ones, alright:

Tigerlily mumbles and trills with her mouth closed, but doesn't usually meow (except when she's in a room by herself and starts meowing psychotically for no apparent reason). She loves soda crackers and cereal flakes. She's addicted to my hair (and ONLY mine), and she will jump up and grab my head with her paws (and claws  ) just so she can start licking it.

Chloe has the head of a kitten and the body of Garfield. Her meow sounds like a raspy kitten, and is often multisyllabic. When she sits in a window, she will start "chirping" at any birds that approach. She loves dark-leaf lettuce; she has been known to prefer this over meat, even when both are in front of her and the meat is closer. She likes to sleep upside-down with her legs in the air.

I have the world's stupidest cat. It is incapable of making the deductive leap of "I just chose to not go outside due to the blizzard two minutes ago, therefore I probably still don't want to go outside now". It has also been known to complain at me for having caused it to rain. I've known snails with more intelligence.

Is that bragging?

Here is my first cat, Spike, the chatterbox of this family, every day for 4 years now she has been my alarm clock with a ear peirceing morning "REOW!" at 6 in the morning,
runt of the litter she has proven to be a very strong cat, especialy when treats are involved, and will stare at you on end until she gets what she desires,

like her brother she is lovable, especialy when I'm doing something important like work she'll just cuddle up on my lap. and also loves to sleep on top of laptop computers,

and here is Boots, a quite hefty cat, though he is quite lovable, has a taste for the outdoors and makes leaps and bounds to get to the kitchen door before it closes,
he knows how to open spring operated screen doors,

and he has kind of a fear of apples since I acidentaly hit him in the face with one, >->;

My fiance had a rat named Mr. Scolex. He was the best!! Better trained than any dog I've known! We could leave his cage open all day & he wouldnt cause any trouble. She'd take him with us when we went out, even to restaurants (even tho I was against that!) and was so behaved!

Then, one night while petting him, we noticed a lump under his neck. Thought maybe it was just from scratching. Over the next few days it started growing. Within 2 weeks it was a large tumor. I felt SO bad. It got to the point where he had trouble eating & drinking so we adjusted everything to make it easy for him. I noticed he wasn't looking so well one night, so as a treat I spoon fed him some oatmeal. That was his last meal. He died the next morning and received a very nice burial in the backyard, complete with a tombstone made from Kiln brick, on which I engraved an epitaph with a dremel tool.

I was more upset with him dying than she was. I really liked that rat.:(

I have a Barder collie/lab mix-female and a boarder collie/collie mix-male, who for some reason think it's funny to hump in front of me when the wife has a headache.

Such cute animals!

I could only find two, the others are on my bf's comp. The first one is Kythira (orange/white) the first day we brought her home. The second one is a closeup of Shiva and I love that pic I got of her.

I have a dog! Jake, hes around 6 now, with a deformed front paw (jake the peg har har), hes completey wild and drives us all nuts, but we wouldn't be without him!

We also have EIGHT rabbits and TWO guineapigs, of course we started off with two male rabbits, unfortunately one had ovaries -.-.

Two of the rabbits EXTREMELY fluffy, I mean BEYOND fluffy, its just crazy!! We just had to have one shaved, poor lil thing is now a house rabbit for a bit.. Hes enjoying the tv a lil too much I think! Hes engrossed!

I don't have pics, but I *have* to get some of (the not so fluffy now) fluffmeister before his fur grows back!

Its like a zoo here, but I love it!!!
