No, that's not it. I don't think many people know about this. PetGirl made that post just yesterday in the fourth page or so of some Off-Topic thread. It was only by chance that I came across it. I wonder why she shies away from saying this. She could have easily mentioned it here. And it's not as if it's some stigma or anything.

Hum, but the previous poster just seemed to refer to it as a "handicap" and "disability". Perhaps somebody should go around and put handles on the dyslexic's bathtub because she can't spell?

*sigh*

Pedantry in a forum environment is bad because it's so bloody ignorant. Handles on the bath tubs of all pedants please. I'll pay. And whilst they're scrubbing themselves clean, perhaps the dyslexics can come and post here without fear of intimidation.

Because it is a handicap and a disability - legally, and in actuality.

Not all handicaps are the "wear a bike helmet and use a wheelchair" handicaps.

My sister's husband is dyslexic. He still works for a high technology firm that contracts out to the army, and has gone to Iraq twice now to train troops to use some of the computer equipment in vehicles. In his spare time he builds RC airplanes from scratch. Dyslexia is a disability, but it doesn't mean your stupid or unable to function. It's just something you learn to live with and work around.

Thank you for explaining. I had assumed that "AL" was some sort of code, or ingame reference I didn't get. This is because I remember you communicating much more clearly a year ago.

I never correct peoples gramar - weird things happen with the brain. I have epilepsy and have had to take drugs that have severely effected my ability to form sentences, spell and even think clearly at times. Not to mention what happens to me after a seizure.

Normally, I speak Spanish, fluently. After a seizure, I was at work and I went into a meeting and everyone was speaking Spanish and it may as well have been marshian to me. It was horrible. I thought I'd lost my mind. My understanding of Spanish came back eventually, but the brain is a strange thing.

Don't sweat the small stuff PetGirl - we can read between the letters and the lines! :)

When that dosen't work you can always draw beautiful pictures.

I might be a bit late to the game but I still think it's a bit funny, when someone who uses words (?) like "kthxbye" criticizes the spelling of someone else (who did not have the privilege of learning English before going to school).

Am I the only one, who sees the joke? ;)

Maybe I am interpreting too much into this incident but many people with problems like PetGirl are sensitive in this regard - because there is a large group of people who consider you kind of dumb, when you can not speak their language well. This misconception is probably much older than the proverbial English nobleman who considers "Negroes" stupid because "they don't even understand English".

I am not saying, that this is your attitude, Summer, just trying to explain why someone might take a post like yours very seriously.

Well, looking at your previous postings I have to say that your knowledge of punctuation seems pretty shaky, and I should particularly mention that an ellipsis is expressed by most literate people as ' ... ' (spaces required).

Hope this helps.
