So, I was thinking the other day as I read posts here, I (without even realising or paying much attention to it) attribute an imaginary voice to people. Such as:
Enabran (and almost any other person trying doggedly to get across a point that usually is falling on deaf ears) : Usually Lewis Black, especially when extolling wisdom, I picture Enabran talking in that teeth-gritted, frusterated but trying desperately to keep from yelling, sorta voice. Or the yelling Lewis Black / Sam Kinnison voice when he becomes more passionate about a particular subject.
William Withnail (and recently, Huns Valen) : Appear in my head to have a Victorian/English/British Accent. Basically, say anything such as "Bloody hell, Cheerio," or anything else I recognize as such and you're getting this voice attached to your posts as I read your words aloud in my head. Oh, and Jeska Linden too, every time I read, "It is apparent that there is no longer and productive conversation taking place here", I read it with the female british customer service voice in my head, that voice that says, "I'm trying my damnedest to be profession and do my job, but one of these days I'm going to staple your damned mouths shut and break your keyboard!"
Cocoanut Koala : Always has an Australian accent, and a cartoon voice. Actually, everyone with the last name "Koala" usually reads in my head like that, I can't for the life of me remember which cartoon I saw as a kid that had a koala bear with an Australian accent, but that voice has been in my head ever since.
Eggy Lippman : You sound Russian in my head. Ok, it's not ALL tied to the nationality or implied nationality of someone's AV, but usually that's how it works.
So, am I crazy? Or does anyone else unintentionally attribute different voices to people as they read the forums?

In order to properly understand me, one must envision that I sound just like Fran Drescher.

I'm not russian. <-- Lisbon, Portugal Though they say that portuguese sounds kinda like spanish, spoken with a russian accent. I have a webcam and a microphone... You (and anyone else who is curious) are very welcome to add me on MSN and get to know me a little better. I'll have to warn you though, my spoken english is crap, and my listening comprehension is horrid

Curiously, I always read Ulrika's posts as if they're being read to me by Stewie from "Family Guy"

It doesn't have to be logical, I'm sure in real life the people who are playing and have forum icons of furry's don't sound like cartoon characters, hehehe... But in my brain, when I'm reading here, they do.

Actually, what's the name of that actress who she used to have in her profile, the pic she had was an angry looking female actress?(is it wierd that I remember the voice but not the actress name? Wasn't she in the first ghostbuster movie?) That actress's voice, usually, on more empowered or passionate posts, or now when she's joking, that team-rocket pokemon girl... Be warned, if you have a profile-pic that looks like a cartoon character or person I can recognise and attach a voice to, you've ALREADY been AUDIOTYPED. Sorry, Travis Lambert. ;P

Yes, that's a Prokofy reference... a few of us old-timers are stuck in this open source type of mindset that you should create for the joy of it and freely share stuff with everyone, especially newbies... he used to call these people, who gave little more than a rat's ass about the economy, "Bolsheviks". I dressed up my little eggy in a russian army cap and kalashnikov to match it... I am rather socialist / liberal, and the icon turned out to be really cute so it kind of stuck even after Proko got booted.

So, am I crazy? Or does anyone else unintentionally attribute different voices to people as they read the forums? I do this all the time, so if you are crazy then I am too. My take on your choices: - Enebran is smooooth. He is so reserved and controlled that I always think of him talking in a slow kind of mellifluous voice, all calm and reasonable, like a dad or something. - William Withnail is a victorian/cyberpunk kind of gent as far as I am aware so thats an easy one, but his face is more Samuel Clemens so sometimes I hear a Southern Gentleman of the same period. - Coco definately has a high squeaky cartoon voice, totally agree with that. I dont get the Australian accent though. I always think of her as being kind of short also. - Sadly I have no voice for Eggy. Giant eggs are terribly inscrutable. Some of mine (hopefully no offense here ): - Before I met her I thought Kendra sounded sort of like Laura Petrie or one of those smooth voiced TV moms from the 60's. When I talk to her in world she sounds different (probably cause she looks different) from that but I am not sure how exactly (camp laura petrie?). - Kris Ritter always reminds me of some really bored and bitchy runway model or something. Kind of like Marilyn Monroe if she had a stone in her shoe. - Hiro Queso sounds like a sea captain. - Aimee has a high voice. It's not squeaky, but it's cutesy like a cheerleader and full of energy. If anyone is insulted please just insult me back and dont make a big flame war over it.
