It can not only be proven, the weight of evidence in favor of evolution is so overwhelming as to make further dispute irresponsible and, quite honestly, ignorant.

I'm not sure what your educational background is, and I'm not sure you are capable of being shown how wrong you are -- for that to happen, you'd at least have to have some respect and understanding for the methods of science. But since you buy into the Adam & Eve myth, I'm thinking you're already hopeless.

In the remote event that I'm wrong about you, pick up a paperback version of Kenneth Miller's Finding Darwin's God. Professor Miller is a Christian as well as a biologist, and answers all your questions better than anyone on a web board could possibly do.

A perfect example of someone who doesn't understand evolution in the first place. Darwin never claimed that we descended from monkeys. He demonstrated that we share a common ancestor with apes. To whit: Some 95% of your DNA is indistinguisable from a chimpanzee's, which also descended from an apelike ancestor.

Mountains of morphological evidence
A tree of life described by DNA analysis that corroborates the one described by the morphological evidence (the morphological tree was done before DNA was even discovered)
Humans getting taller over time
the /plantaris/ muscle
inherited genetic diseases
the nylon bug (an evolved bacteria that consumes nylon - a substance that did not exist on the planet before fifty years ago. It had to /evolve/ that capability, and it's proven relatives /do not/ have that capability.)
e. coli bacteria that produce human insulin

and on, and on, and on, and on. There's /mountains/ of evidence - simply because /you/ are ignorant of it and have been trained your entire life to deny it because your church elders feel that it's some sort of threat to their three-thousand-year-old myth about the origins of humans, life, and the planet (You deny evolution - do you deny a round planet too? Do you think bats are birds? Do you think the sun revolves around the Earth?) - is not an excuse for you to /lie from ignorance/.

See, talk.origins' archives will not tell you anything that reputable, credentialled biologists, geologists, and other scientists won't tell you - it's a public archive and is used by many academic sources as a reference. If they posted something questionable, it would get debated into the ground.

Second, evolution is the /core/ of modern biology. Without evolution, nothing in modern biology makes any sense. talk.origins does a very good job of demonstrating why evolution's detractors are full of bunkum. It's only "worthless" if your only goal is to perpetrate academic ignorance and an ignorance of the methods, failings, goals and motives of the fundamentalist evangelical biblical literalists who see evolution as a scapegoat or as a threat to their interpretation of a three-thousand-year-old creation myth.

Third, if I were to begin to try to dictate to /you/ the doctrine of your church, you'd expect me to at least /know/ something about your church first and be conversant with its' tenets so that I don't waste your time with silly things like "All protestants believe St. Mary killed a dragon." There is a threshold. She is required to /not lie/ - whether she lies from ignorance, from malice, or from extortion, /she is still lying/. It is her /duty/ to try to make sure that she is not lying. Irresponsible gossip results in people dying - and individuals responsible trying to claim that they didn't know any better.

The idea of debate is to make your point or counter-point. Suggesting the opposing view is clueless and should study the "facts" first is a ploy used by weak debaters in an effort to intimidate the opponent into submission. It makes Finning/Ulrka's argument weak, because it's a fear tactic instead of actual reasoning.
