I'm an idiot when it comes to hardware and drivers and things like that. I just got a new hp comp, running Vista with an ATI Radeon x1700SE graphics card. I can't find a driver for that exact card and I don't know enough about drivers to guess what else can be used. Anyone able to help me out?

google found this for me, its from ASUS but it may work for you. i looked on hp's web site and it looks like they have some updated drivers, but since you never said which model you have it's kind of hard to tell...

I had the same problem just a couple of days ago, I ended up taking my computer to the shop and they told me that even tho I thought I had got rid of all the drivers from my old card there was still something there that the new one was reading. They ended up getting rid of all the old drivers and put Direct X9c I think they said..

My girlfriend has been having problems with SecondLife. Her computer keeps shutting off during gameplay in world. This seems to be happening in only SecondLife. In other games it doesn't crash. She's Using a Radeon 9250 aswell.

She's Using a Radeon 9250 aswell. Shutting off is almost certainly a heating issue. Since SL and other 3D games will work your computer harder than most any other app you can run on a computer, its likely the reeason she is only seeing it happen while running SL _____________________
