Im a semi pro gamer in the Uk playing in LAN events in the UK as well as in my gaming clan in Europe on various competions cups etc.
My PC is a AMD 64 Dual core 4200+ ( thats 2 amd 4200 processors ) 1GB of ram, 6800 256MB Gfx, 260GB HD, 19" monitor with 8ms etc. connection 2mb adsl.
I run the following games often and all at high spec
battlefront 2, call of duty 2, half-life 2, doom3, f.e.a.r, farcry, etc... all with no problems
but when i run and play SL i get this bizzare graphics lag combined with network lag.
I assume the delay in render ie " all i see is grey " is due to the quality of the servers SL is running and my location eg. im in uk and therefore my ping is greater as servers are in Cali.
on the graphics lag i can only assume its how the game engine is written and that it greatly underperfoms with new technology and that its development has been amendment on top of an amendmet etc leading to bizzare bugs and ingame heartache.
The only solution I can think of is to possibly create a new game engine or buy the license to use once from the above games.
Dont get me wrong SL is great fun and a refreshing change from my normal FPS action.
Its just my wee little bit of observation since christmas.

I mean, it stands to reason that if it works for one computer and doesn't work for another and its the same exact program then there is something not correct with one of the computers. Sounds to me like there is nothing wrong with SL then if it works "just fine on multiple PCs". What's your beef? SL on a whole isn't screwed up and if it works with other accounts just fine then SL is likely "just fine" for most other people. The problem is you have a messed up account, by your own admission, just one. Most people, if LL couldn't fix the problem (and they may not be able to without wiping the account and starting over), would just move the main account to another one that did work and go on about their lives. Not enough drama in that I guess. The OP may very well have a buggy account but odds are very good there is something else wrong and they aught to check the other possibilities first before blaming everything on SL and burning down Linden Labs. You identified your problem as being a buggy account after verifying there was nothing wrong with your computers, that's exactly my advice.
It may sound like arrogance to you but I am not doing so on purpose, I am stating common sense the way I see it. I may not give out the best advice in the world but ya know, at least I am trying to help. How much of a dense asshat can you be? Why should she have to manually move her items to an alt? Why can't LL fix her account? She has been complaining about this problem for months. She had to sell her private island because it was bugged and her account was bugged. I am sick of people telling other people that their technical issues are non-existant. I had a private island that was bugged. The ground textures would randomly change. I didn't use any custom textures but used Linden textures. I had multiple people tell me this issues didn't exist, except everyone who worked on the island or spent any time there knew this was going on. I was given multple workarounds by the Lindens that never corrected the long term issue. Why should I pay $195 a month for that? Why should people have to waste their time hounding LL about multiple known bugs? This is supposed to be entertainment, not work. The Lindens obviously don't care about customer service since they have told customers if they tier down, someone else will just come and take their place. As long as thier customer service is "well we don't have to care about customers, we can just get new ones", the service is not worth paying for. The day will come when people wise up enough and a competitior comes along, that the new suckers will stop pouring in and stop spending money.

I have decent PC, Fast Internet and Sl lags, rezzes slow and I see grey ppl

For all its worth, I have to agree with the orgianl Post. BUT I AINT LEAVIN! so yer not fired
SL was a much better game on all these factors... when I first started back in May. I dont know what was wrong with SL that it needed this supposed fixin anyways. shrugs.
my pc has 2 of everything it could possibly have....hehe but dont ask me what. Cuz my game partner isnt online right now.
I dont use my pc for porn but i do have teenage boys.......hmmm....(turns and hollars down the hallway...BOYS! who has been at my pc?)

I can be a pretty dense one, case in point. You narowed down the problem to being a messed up island account and verified it wasn't the hardware. QED Should she have to move her account? In a perfect world, no. Should I have to take my new car back to the dealer repeatedly to fix a problem that goes away when the mechanic looks at it, again, no. SL is in no way perfect and has many flaws and their tech support is very, very average but the reason they harp about hardware it is because in a vast majority of cases, it is what is wrong. What you and Kris are describing are problems with customer support and estates, not my basic premise that before you blame LL for all your problems including male pattern baldness and gout, make darn sure it isn't your hadware or internet pipe first because odds are, it is. I have never considered buying an island because I knew from the very beginning having talked with others who did buy them that the servers used when the estate program started were cast off obsolete rigs too slow for the mainland and rife with potential problems. Then again I couldn't see dishing out $1000 and $195 a month for a freakin' game and an unproven one at that. Before you start calling me names, you might wanna look in the mirror. Caveat emptor.
