Yeah, I'm serious. Apparently is the customer support not able to terminate my ghosted character (which likely just incurs a sim restart, and maybe deleting a row in the database), which the server itself is too stupid for, so that I can login again, play this game and maybe waste the L$ I bought, so I have to do it myself obviously. Either that, or they might do an effort and bother talking to me for a change and actually telling me what the problem is, if it's a bigger issue. But, no, too much work I suppose.
Thanks, toodles!

Instead of crashing the grid try getting someone to IM you inworld. That has gotten my "ghost" to quit in the past. Then I could log in.
Taking the grid down to "solve" your problem is more than just a little selfish.

No offense, but friends and I tried a lot of things in the meanwhile almost 21 hours the avatar is screwed up. Last thing tried was bumping it into another sim hoping it would log off, instead it ghosted completely.
21 hours for force-logging off is a bit long, don't you think?

RC may own the sim, lets not jump to conclusions.

From: Zen Zeddmore RC may own the sim, lets not jump to conclusions. RC is what? Race condition? If it lasted 21 hours, it's about time to kill the sim and let it restart. It's almost lunch time in their headquarter, and not so much as a peep. Someone tested my account yesterday, but apparently it wasn't grave enough to follow up and tell me what's going on.

I wouldn't know how to crash a sim........let alone the grid.
I just find it amazing someone would be so selfish as to take down the grid or a portion of the grid just so they could log in............utter selfishness.
Go make yourself an alt..........the log in. Do something that does not effect others. It's pretty obvious your problem is pretty much a individual one. Why do you think it's okay to cause others problems because you have one?
Hell, for all I know, you could be banned. With an attitude like you are expressing it certainly seems possible.

No scripts. Some sim burped, teleported me to a location I crashed like 15 minutes before all of it and just froze me into the location where the av floats now, until the end of the universe because no one can be assed to do some actual custsupp, unless you pour craploads of money into your account (at least that's how the KB lets me understand it).

Have you been online the whole time waiting to log out?

The sim pretends I'm online since the whole time, though I'm not even connected. It has bothered to remove all baked textures meanwhile, though.

Hmm, it's not hard to crash a class four sim, not sure about class five, but given the problems that can arise through sim crashing (purchased land being returned to previous owner, but buyer doesn't get his money back; non-transfer items in the sim going poof; and so on) passing on this information doesn't seem like a good idea. If one of the aforementioned disasters occurred and LL realised the sim had been crashed deliberately, it wouldn't just be you taking the fall. Sorry to hear about your problem though.

From: someone [11:49] Peggy Paperdoll: It seems you are not ghosted.......you are actually online Just that it is clear: My client isn't running. From: Peggy Paperdoll Do you know the location of your avi? I'll try bumping you. Already tried bumping. Once it reached the border of the sim, it became incollidable, as in ghosted.

Maybe someone else could file for a sim restart?

The server tells me my character is being logged out since it happened. My client isn't compiled with MOZLIB, so I don't get a browser window that could 404 me. Logging in with the credentials of someone else works fine. There's no point in anything else client-side, because it's the server-side that's messing up.

So you are not using the regular SL client?

Linux client. Again, what does it have to do with it? As soon I disconnect, the server has to time out the character. Just as it does with the regular client when it crashes.

Just a shot..............if you are using a non standard client it just may have something to do with it.
Believe it or not.........a couple here are trying to help. But we know as much as you do for a fix........and that ain't much.
Call LL........put a support ticket in. Don't get snippy with any advice someone may offer though.

What if the land owner is contacted and ejects you? I have had 'ghosts' on my land before and they were obviously having some problems, just floating and not showing little green dot on minimap. Sometimes I eject them and honestly don't know where they go, and other times they eventually disappear.

^^^ Mine shows a green dot. Well, I have to find the owner, though I doubt it'll do much, because the avatar can't be pushed past sim borders.
There's already a support ticket, also with a "technician assigned", which ostensibly has the weekend off. And no point in calling them, since I can't speak their language well.

Just curious, you did try reboot your machine? It *can* be client side issue if your open port to sim is still in open state because TTL is 120 hours for some connections, not all. Others are 2 minutes. Resetting iptables may help as well. Depends on what you have running at tcp.
