I've emailed my log files to LL Support and have tried what I know to do to troubleshoot this with the viewer. RL is causing me to relog it very early tomorrow so I'm off to bed. Good luck all!

Yep, no luck here, and its way past my bedtime.
If I try to login to my home location, it just hangs at connecting to region. I can manually login to Anzere & Ahern just fine - but if I try to teleport from there to Isabel, I get disconnected. If I try to fly North from Anzere to Isabel, or South from Ahern to Isabel, I come up against bizarre "Voids" that don't show up on the map. If I accidently fly into one of these voids, the region goes to "Unknown", and I get disconnected. Heading to bed here - hoping it'll sort itself by morning. ![]() _____________________

Not sure if you're trying it this way but:
Try these two links. (I mean, close down SL completely, and click on these links instead to launch SL): secondlife://ahern/20/20 secondlife://anzere/20/20 They worked for me - but I couldn't fly far. _____________________

Whenever I try loggin' in, I just get stuck at the "Veryfying protocol version" screen and then it kicks me back to the title splash, saying "Unable to connect to Second Life. The system may be down. Please try again in a few minutes, or click Help for advice and a link to the system status web page."
Clicking help does absolutely nothing. >< Aya is not a happy gamer. ![]() EDIT: I *have* reinstalled, reset, blah blah blah, etc etc. Doesn't work. I'm convinced it's not a problem on my end, 'cause if it was, I wouldn't be able to log into FFXI and WoW, either. All I was doing when I dropped connection was hanging out with some friends, and then *pftt* there I go, and can't log back in. |

I'm able to log in and out fine but Makaio on the west coast can't. Same problems with teleporting, and now he can't get in at all.
Pinging www.secondlife.com is 100% timeout, he can't even get to the forums, but other websites are fine. _____________________

I can get to the forums (though slow at times) and secondlife.com used to work but is now timing out (I can get to lindenlab.com fine tho), and am on the west US coast...
I can't even get to pnap.net, which I think might be SL's ISP, but then why does forums.secondlife.com work OK?? Sheesh! Tracing route to secondlife.com [66.150.244.150] over a maximum of 30 hops: ... 11 40 ms 17 ms 17 ms 206.24.211.18 12 * 66 ms * border1.ge1-1-bbnet1.sfo002.pnap.net [63.251.63.1] 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 * * * Request timed out. ... Im currently in-world and logged another alt in, no problem. Sounds like a router issue with a major ISP.

I did a traceroute on the login server and found that it timed out far beyond my own ISP\s domain too, it could be a common hub that connects the few of us that are having problems to the login server.
In short, a third party might be having problems neither we nor LL can fix.\ Edit : I also time out jumping from border1.ge2-1-bbnet2.sfo002.pnap.net |

Welp, I called InterNAP, which hosts pnap.net, but they said to go through their customer, but I can't figure out if that's pnap.net (which I can't find a contact # for) or LindenLab (who apparently seems to be asleep for the night!). Why a 24-hour product doesn't have 24-hour support is ridiculous, incidentally!

Unable to connect to Second Life

I've been trying to connect for more than 40 minutes now. Same reply every time. Is there a glitch or something like that? I have a cable connection (4Mbps) that runs through a Linksys router. Everything else is working fine. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Thanks a bunch. Brazilian Nabob |

Brazilian Nabob I logged in just fine, but a general problem I've seen a lot of in SL is that depending on how your router is configured, it may block you out. Make sure to open ports and if ya can, remove your router from your Internet connection chain and see if you can connect. It's confusing but hopefully you can get inworld! Best of hope! _____________________

Hi, Torley, thanks a lot. It seems the problem was with ZoneAlarm (Firewall). I updated it and (almost) everything seems to be fine. Now the issue is that everybody disappears (including myself) from sight after a few minutes playing. Then, I only see people's names. I can interact, but it gets really tricky...

Welkies, Brazilian... I wonder if this is an AVATAR VERTEX problem? Do this and see if it works... go to PREFERENCES in ADV GRAPHICS, and uncheck AVATAR VERTEX PROGRAM there. It will not work with some graphics cards, and makes avatars... invisible! _____________________
