If you are referring to me. I am just as pissed off as the rest of you. This stinks. The release of this update should have been pushed back at least a week. It is obviously not ready for prime time.

But I will give credit where it is due. The world is rarely black and white. They do get kudos for the long list of fixes in this release.

Not at you hun. the newbie i was.......... I am as upset as the rest of the users.......

hmm .. well ok ... a bunch of adults yes? *goes back re-reads the posts in this thread*.

Not sure I want to define what adult is to be honest, so the grid is down. It gave me a chance to catch up with a very close friend and try out something new on yahoo, had time to catch up on some graphics work, I COULD have sat here and read this forum and got caught up in teh bickering after reading the update on teh status. but, why? Life's to short. It really is.

Interesting when adults get upset over small things they start throwing accusations and then they start name calling. Why is that? Is that something we were supposed to have left behind in the school yard? Not quite sure what it's supposed to accomplish actually. Adults seem to forget what is important in life.

For MOST this IS just a game period. for some they have chosen to place their livelihood into the game which is fine but unless you are willing to accept some down time from time to time given the unpredictable nature of the internet I advise against it. If you chose to go ahead iwth it anyways, consider yourself forwarned, you WILL have down time no matter what at some point so be prepared or simply do't do it and take responsibility for your decisions.

To those who view this as JUST a game, ask yourself if all this anguish over down time is worth it. Find something constructive to do while tech's try to isolate and fix this. Don't expect tehm to be on a forum updating you. I'd be concerned if I found techies in hee answering all our questions. why? well if they are in here who's fixing the grid? Logic seems to have been forgotten.

ohh I gotta comment on the *I'm typing to you not talking..* comment. for some THAT is the ONLY way some can talk litterally so yeah, we do *talk* in SL.

The game is important to me but for a reason unlike many. but not so important that I am gonna let it steal preceiouse time catching up on other things and getting my knickers in a knot for no reason.

It sure would be interesting to get the mob of people demanding new features and the mob of people demanding no new features in an arena together.

Next we could host the weekly updates vs. monthly updates battle. I bet we could raise enough money to buy all new servers for LL and hire 100 extra programmers.

It would be interesting to get the SL finance facts. Linden transparency could be very valuable to the evolution of SL. If funding for additional server power is really an issue, perhaps they should rethink pricing.

I'm a basic member, but would be happy to pay a reasonable monthly fee for better grid performance. Perhaps premium members would be willing to take a bump as well.

How transparent are the SL finances?

Thoughts?

Yes if for no other reason i keep him aboard www.dragnwings.com because he makes me laugh when i really dont want to, and if you have ever tuned him in you know he has no voice, but says what he means loud and clear thru his music.
we all know that at 3 am est there will be some sad songs played, as the GAME of choice for him is "down" some take for granted god given abilities, not thinking that some dont look at it as a game, but an escape to to things their r/l bodys cant do

Do you people honestly think that LINDENS are the ones sitting there coding their little code monkey fingers away ? HELL NO! Lindens are mere administrators & moderators. For christ sakes people, developers of an application would not be sitting here chatting away with you while they are trying to solve issues with software. Please keep in mind before you go flaming the wrong people. Lindens are the mere front-person's of SL, there is a myraid of developers and system engineers that are BEHIND THEM, those are the guys plugging away at things...LOL.

last night when I finally got in I didn't have packet loss. This morning its packet loss hell. Went from 50+ FPS last night to 2FPS this morning.

Something is definitely not right.

Last update was the same. MASSIVE bugfix list. However, people have heard other people repeating the "fix things before introducing features" and "LL does not listen" mantras, and have just joined in.

And I want them to keep doing massive bug fixes for 3 months or more. Clean up SL's code so we have a nice and stable client then get back to giving us new shinies. We don't need havok 2/3 or anything else we need a stable platform. After it is good and stable they can build on the new foundation. I don't expect them to stop working on new features but I don't want them releasing any untill SL has had a good and long working over.

Take this morning, I am sailing my boat, and I hit some packet and wham My boat instantly goes into my pocket and I get to take a trip round and round and round an area from Umbar through sido to points south and back again in a huge circle.
