What exactly do you expect them to tell you? You think they are lying to you when they tell you they have narrowed down the source of the problem and are dilligently working after hours to fix it? What would you rather see there?

Well either those that say such things have not been inpart part total package as they say. The resent few months have been a nightmare worse then the 1.6 or 1.7 client releases......This downtime ranks up there in the 1.7 patch after patch nightmare which many of use lived through.......Some olders sims have been stressing badly to the point they can`t even hold 20 without fps dropping 50% dils don`t even think about it reading!. So to answer your sort of reply to those that have a problem with things in the game today. THERE YOU ARE have a nice laggy and pockloss day!

I still say 1.5 took the cake for bad updates. Remember the 2 day downtime with that one? + weeks of just this sort of login trouble?

Took untill 1.5.13 before it really started running decently again.

That said after much of last week and weekend lost to the security troubles I would have pushed this back another week so it could be well tested and bug fixed. Loosing all that time for fixing this update I think hurt badly. They are only human and even they have to sleep at some point.

With this past nightmare with passworks they would have been better off shutting down the game for a few days then let the let the still be online.
1.5 was the time that started the LAG issue as i recall.

HELLO to all and this being my first post I will try to keep it short and sweet, comming from the sims on-line (and bringing to-date 1 of my peeps with me i can tell you we KNOW lag on a personal basis, so bearing in mind that i have been a major contributor to the influx problem we will slow it down some to help with getting it stable, however www.dragnwings.com employees MUST all have an account by the end of september!
With being used to updates EVERY morning for anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour at times taking a night off is a blessing!, once a week or once a month as they deem and as far as the lag pffffffft. cowboychris carmichael is an instructor at TUi and my general manager, IM him and he will be happy to help you with your settings to reduce lag, or i can for that matter

Lag, Birth of the Log in que (just because of days like today), TP problems from hell. You name it they managed to hit em all with that one (1.5).

If you are having problems with the game such as lag and frame rate Set your prefences to minimize that.

If you are having problems with the game such as can't log in and you have a basic acct.

NOW if you are annoyed well JOIN THE CLUB. I have been playing on line games for over 7 years. SL is MILD in the down time AND SL is the only game with a police blotter so they do care bout what goes on in game. So that punk arse griefer will feel the sting.

Just remember its a game and its JUST A GAME no matter how much they call it 2nd Life.
its still just a hobby and a game..... Perhaps you could try reading a book or taking a walk did you know there is a world out there and right now its Fall and wonderful

Actually from what I read in the release notes this update was more fixes than anything else.

FYI 2+ years in SL and I read 17 books last week.

Also 18 isn't bad over my time here I have brought in 47 new players that are all still here.

As for lag in TSO it aint bad these days. I remember when they first got rid of rubbers and introduced the friendship web. My sim starved to death more than once trying to get to the food table thanks to crippling lag.

It sure would be interesting to get the mob of people demanding new features and the mob of people demanding no new features in an arena together. Next we could host the weekly updates vs. monthly updates battle. I bet we could raise enough money to buy all new servers for LL and hire 100 extra programmers.

Fixes are apart of everygame. But sl been a nightmare for awhile....for many.Gesh.........another Pro sl is doing their best BS and PR the rest. I was not born on sl yesterday............
I know LLabs does its best yes, but this type bs is just insulting to us all.......

NO WAY and lag... you can't do squat there if some joker decides to put all 25 jam tables in on small corner of his dumb lot.


the same principles apply in SL TOO MANY MOVING PIXELS equals LAG

notice the Lag at clubs... its all that dancing in one small ariea it taxes yer pc to keep up.

Avatars LIKE space ... Pixels and streaming date demands loads of run time on yer pc and too much data to move is a BANG cause of lag and BOOM disconnect.

Last update was the same. MASSIVE bugfix list. However, people have heard other people repeating the "fix things before introducing features" and "LL does not listen" mantras, and have just joined in.

What BS is that, Usagi? Where do you honestly think they are BS-ing you? You can't possibly think this is intentional.

I really have no idea which bs your talking about and in addition to that I really am not sure who Gesh is either.

If you are referring to me. I am just as pissed off as the rest of you. This stinks. The release of this update should have been pushed back at least a week. It is obviously not ready for prime time.

But I will give credit where it is due. The world is rarely black and white. They do get kudos for the long list of fixes in this release.

All I ask is that it works.
