For some reson, i can't connect to secondlife, anyoen else havign this probelm?
I was at the mature sandbox when it was hti with extreme lag, wierd lag becaise it did noe effect chat or object rezzing, just avatar movement, other people were effected. 10min after the lag started lindens shut down the sim, i tried to reconnect to the game, but it keeps stopping at Secondlife may appear frozen, please wait...it stays like that for 10min and then something pops up saying Despite are best efforts, something has gone wrong check secondlife.com/statues for any news, i checked and nothing

A grid attack isn't something to blame on a COUNTRY, let alone anyone else without proof. Being from CANADA I can also say that us CANADIANS don't just bad mouth our American neighbours as you imply we do. Or, are you CANADIAN as well that you would know that for FACT?

Said it just seemed that way. Last time I lisened in on Canada TV they were angry from everthing from Timber, livestock, grain, guns smuggled across the border and this is just the short list!

The rumor is that the person responsible for the attacks is in Canada and the Americans can not do a thing to him since the Candian authorities requse to help the Americans. This is not the first time rumor. There is also a story that they are going to pull the plug on the air defense grid since they has a disagrement with them on that as well. That the Americans would have to wait until the threat crosses it border before engaging.

You can get offended all you want but that does not change a thing. Tell me how the goverment of Canada helps the Americans?

And tell me what those facts have to do with a grid attack?

Crashing a virtual world, just as sending viruses through emails, is work of a hacker.
Hackers do this because it makes them feel powerful to bring it down and watch others panic and work to bring it back up, *not because they hate a country or a game or anyone*. This guys could have been yellow, red or black, it doesn't change a thing.

Oh and since you want to make idiotic comments, here's one: what if that guy was actually an American who moved to Canada recently? And hates Canada?

I had to edit to add a few more comments, since I had not taken the time to actually read and see if anyone replied to your verbal diarhea.

1. You just blamed an entire country, for something that you believe one of its citizens did. Your entire accusation is build on a rumor -- Last I heard, rumors werent facts and definately not admissible in court.

2. The American Authorities cannot do anything to this person? I believe America and Canada actually have an extradication treaty - so that people responsible for a crime they commit in or to America can be tried by the American system. All of which is subject to person jurisdiction -- which I trust can be established.

3. When was the last time Canada did anything for America? WTF - when was the last time America did anything for Canada? If anything, I think since Canada's refusal to join the war neither country - has been willing to scrub the other's back. Given such - why SHOULD Canada have to do anything for the USA? Canada owes its duties to it's Citizens first and foremost.

Let's break this down piece by piece ....

1) show me where the alligation of the (or any) grid attacker is Canadian by way of a link to the information. Then your accusation is upheld by not more then a single-minded opinion. Also, lets keep in mind that just because someone, somewhere, has said something doesn't make it FACT.

2) The border is a 2 way crossing. Canada is a HUGE timber economy. We have the right to protect it. Just as any county has a right to protect one of their largest commodities. Have you tried to cross the border from Vancouver, BC into Oregon? For miles on miles there are warnings about timber crossing into the US from Canada which isn't permitted due to protect their timber commodity too. But this is just one of the items you will point to Canada and not realize that it's working both ways. Simply put, BOTH countries are just protecting a valued item from being killed by infections of other countries.

3) In regards to Canadian authorities refusing to help, I'm sure you have some link to those facts as well. Something that must be this well-known should be penned someplace. I'd like to read it so I can be corrected and be more aware of the situation.

4) ahhh the Military. Have we forgotten that Canada is part of the Commonwealth and a nutural country? Yes we have military forces. What have we done? Well we just burried 4 Canadian Soldiers this week who were killed aiding the wars on terrorism. A few weeks ago we sent back 2 nicely fashioned boxed with the Canadian flag on it. Have I mentioned that this is in SUPPORT of the American effort against Terrorism and that Canada has never been attacked? Oh, let me add to this - on a personal note here, my 3 of 4 brothers are in the Military and all have been there or are still there. Does that make you feel a bit better that one of my beloved brothers could be in one of those pretty pine boxes with the Canadian flag over it and killed in the fight on this war because we have always, and will always, support any country who calls us to?

And, as far as other efforts, it's called NAFA. Makes trade from Canada and the US much easier and more beneficial for both countries. Do a natural resources search and you will see that Canada is right at the top. Where do you think most of the natural resources you are so fond of using comes from.

The stronger your protests the more it looks like the truth. Been looking online and the NORAD agrement still has not be renewed and it expires on May 12. It has to be debated in Canada pariment before singing. The PM thinks it is a done deal but when politicians start talking there is usuallly trouble and that is in ANY country.

Acording to your thoughts hacking and knocking out computer grids is not a big deal. What about the 911 computer grid and the phone company?

My whole point is that if the Americans can get no help from the authorities from an attack on second life, will they help them when the phone or power grids are attack? I wonder what sort of agrement there is on this matter?

Also most Americans do not want to just start killing. They just dont want a repeat of 911. My close friend comes from within 5 kms of one of the impact points.

Oh, Japanese websites get attacked all of the time from hackers in the Peoples Republic. It does not get a lot of press only because they limit it to defacing goverment and certain company websites.

I do not want to enrage or imflamee Candians but what is the story. Of course it could just as well have been done from within the Uninted States. There are so many ways to hide an IP address.

What I mentionned is *the REASON* why they do it, since you seems to think it could have anything to do with hatred. And that's it. I DO think it is extremely wrong, everytime and every way. Except saying that this guy did it because he hates American, and/or insisting that griefer is probably Canadian one more time, unless you'd know him knew it was true, is absolutely absurd, and so would he be if he actually did it for that reason.
