Cant log in!! ack!

Im getting some error message that says "Despite our best efforts, something has gone wrong"... blah blah blah. Yeah, you think!?!

Having the same problem as well, and I know this is the second night this week..

The last message I received a minute or so ago says it's down for maintenance.

maybe im a dreamer but id love no lag, tps to work, logins to be quick and this game not to freeze every 2 hours or go non responsive on me( which actually seems to work better lmao)

While it is very bad situation that there are mixed "status" issues, we also have to understand that running any MMOG takes alot of work and downtime, I see that alot of people are shocked about what's going on right now but in other MMOG's this would be decent. Gotta keep in mind to that not every player on here pays a fee per month and sure while there is a great deal of players that pay the fee's for islands and such it still cost a hell of a lot to run a MMOG so give the linden's a bit of credit. Won't deny though the fact that I am not 100 percent happy with this but belive me this is not half bad at all. Keep faith and we shall all login soon

At a time when I am looking for ways to reduce or eliminate unnecessary stress and aggravation, it may be time to re-examine my addiction to SL. *sigh*

Well, I'm ready to give it up. And I had things I really wanted to tend to tonight in SL. I hope they get this mess corrected.

you need to persevere - it takes several attempts (maybe 10) to get in - but you do manage it.

i have been workin on playing for almost 2 hours.. cant log in & if i do get in i get stuck tp'n. i am REALLY getting tired of this. my money is going down the drain.

I need to find a way to bottle these low level gamer expectations and sell them to other industries. I would make a fortune.

If you get in, don't teleport (you may be luckier than me). Spent 1/2 hour trying to get in but the first teleport I requested put me in water world. Good luck!

After two weeks away from SL, I logged in tonite only to disappear when I teleported.

When I tried to log back in again I was stuck at the first screen for more than 10 minutes after which I was returned to login screen with message sl down for maintenance.

So I waited an hour, tried to login again only to get same message. So i reinstalled sl for the 9,999,999th time and get timed out as soon as i reach the login server.

I would think that in two weeks u could have at least corrected login issues.

It would be really good of LL to admit that the SL version 1.x line is now in maintenence mode while they scramble to make v2.0 with all that they have learned from the mistakes and poor assumptions of v1.x.

On the one hand, this is good as they have learned much from v1.x and I expect that v2.0 will have all the niggling irritations of the 1.x line gone by virtue of having been designed out. On the other hand, 7-10 months is a long time to wait for things to get better which is why they won't admit to the "lame duck" nature of v1.x.

Linden Lab, when things are this broken, the only thing that you can do to stem the irritation and alienation of the playerbase is to be broadly open with your customers. Your customers will forgive a lot and even be patient if they know what to expect and when. I'm sure you have internal development milestones, schedule hits and misses and other information. Be forthcoming and your devoted players will stay. Continue having these "heavy load" issues with no explanation ("heavy load" is not an explanation) and no articulated plan and you'll be able to feel the wave of attrition.

This is not another Osbourne Computer situation whereby giving pre-release information about v2.0 will kill 1.x. Indeed I expect the opposite, that your silence could be fatal. You need to look beyond the current "wisdom" that says "nothing is to be disclosed, ever". You've consistently shown yourselves to be different than other technology companies. It is time to be different again.

I dont know what is the problem ....but it is making me very sad!

I got in, stayed for like 2 hours, then i saw that i changed my clothes, but the clothes would not come off my body.. i changed clothes like 10 minutes ago.. and it was still in my body... AHH!!!

I went into apperience left it there for like 5 minutes..
and it was still there.. it was wack.. LOL i took all the clothes off.. nude.. and the old clothes was still there!!!

I relogged and now i cant log in

First of all.. we pay to play.. and it annoys ppl when they cant get in.. Second.. This happens alot.. why not.. oh I dont know.. Fix it! and Third.. Keep trying people.. it will let you in.. and you already know your not missing much! LOL! Took me about 10 mins and about 5 tries to get in.. it will let ya!

yes the problems are not only the "login servers" as the Lindens keep saying. It is more far reaching problem than that, sims are not communicating with adjacent sims properly if at all, the databases are so slow You have to wait for many minutes to get even a basic search finalised, and yes.. that means inventory and appearance alterations will take some time to have an effect.

Yes may be the problem is "there is a heavy load of the databases right now" but why is it suddenly performing SOOOO badly? I'm used to the lag, the loading times, the VAST amount of data that is sent to and from my computer over the course of 12 hours of playtime.. but when the servers won't even lift a little finger to send me the packets I need to move from my home sim, the game gets old very quickly.
