LOLOLOL Thank you Neurosis for my morning chuckle :)

And no problems here. Running 7.1 with Windows XP Pro on my spiffy new computer and I can get in just fine.

On a side note, the only thing a mac is good for is graphic design :P and I should know.. i'm a graphic designer. The rendering is top notch, other than that you can't get a damn thing for it and your always reading the fine print on all the boxes mumbling "please let this play on my mac, please let this play on my mac."

I HATE that crap about MAC being for graphic design. I CAN RUN ALL THAT STUFF FINE ON MY LOVELY PC!!! ALL OF IT!!! Oh but wait I'm not as in the know as a "graphic designer"?? Or am I? I attended the Art Institute Of Houston for a degree in "graphics design and Multimedia" with a major focus on multimedia as opposed to hard media like posters and whatnot.

ALL THEY USED THERE WAS MACS. True It is where I learned Photoshop,Premiere and a zillion other video, image, editing techniques and I even got to meet The Guitarist from Steppenwolf (He was my "Fundamentals Of Audio" Instructor). But I digress.... My Point Is
That I had all the same programs on my home PC (a sad pentium at that time) and even with their TOP OF THE LINE JUST CAME OUT ON THE SHELVES MACS... they ran like crap... but on my poor undernourished PC they ran fine. Not to mention when a PC crashes YOU KNOW WHY.

I went to AIH to learn 3DStudioMax At the time (the used NT for that, not mac) but the woman told me since I can't draw worth a damn that I cant learn 3D cuz its all about pencil drawing in the end. What a bunch of BS. Now that I've self taught 3DSMax I am an excellent 3D designer (not professional or anything but Im damn good). I still cant draw on paper or even 2D in a computer very well BUT I understand 3D space. Thats all you really need.

That Macs are good for GFX DESIGN is a load of crap only bought by people who havent used a MAC and PC simultanouesly for those purposes.

ANYWAYS... hope i didnt turn this into a MAC vs PC flamathon but my real reason for returning to this thread is to post my QT experience for the benefit of those reading this..

QUICKTIME 6.5.2!!!! Only thing you should install. Period. SLDVD recommends it and they are right. It is even championed on the apple forums as "The Last Truly Stable Release of Quicktime". And It works like magic in SL. Fast, clean and not laggy at all like the crapola 7.x series. You will have to google for the link but the apple site does still have it for download its just tucked away. Nvmind I cant do that to ya... heres the link...

And guess what... works fine w/ x64 YAY :)

HEY! I like Macs!

I like not having things like popular games for it!
I like having a computer that looks like every other one.
I like being limited to where I can buy software!
I like being limited to only what Apple offers!!
I like having to buy a new system any time Apple changes its mind on hardware instead of just spending $50-100 on parts.
I like only having a few choices for a system
I like that if I want a better system I have to come up with over $6000 for what I could have in a $1000 or less PC.
I like having to drive 40-120 Miles to get to the nearest repair place. Let them PC Users go just down the street. Serves them right!
I like having 2 choices for industry standard 3D Animation Software! Pixar must be using Cinema4D! OMG!! The jobs out there for Cinema 4D users! WoW!!!
AutoCAD runs like a dream on the Mac!
I like knowing that Bootcamp will most likely NOT support Vista. It's good that they're doing a total re-write of Windows for Vista!
I like having a computer that any simpleton can use! Just shows that I didnt need an education, certifications & degrees in computers!

That stoopid Windoze XP Pro!!! HAH!! Had it running for 3 years and it crashed twice!!! It's garbage!!! OH! And worse!!! When a program crashes, it doesnt crash the whole OS!! WTF is up with that??

:D

Amen brother... amen

Here is the official rank of the systems, windows -> Luix -> mac
