I hope it gets fixed soon, im craving some Second Life lol. It freaked me out at first when it didn't work, thanks again second life for screwing up.. you make more mistakes then anything else.. maybe test new releases first.

My guess is they changed something that triggers a database update of your account and/or inventory upon the first login. The database server seems to be under tremendous load as it tries to process the changes for the sudden on-rush of people trying to sign in.. which would also explain the sudden forum sluggishness as well when the grid publically came back online. I know it's frustrating, and that people have been anxious for the grid to re-open. Rest assured LL knows about it and is doing whatever they can to help. It could also be something as simple as a router failure.. we won't know until one of the Linden's can provide more insight. Just keep trying.. you WILL get back in.. It took me 4 re-tries but once I was on the grid, everything was speedy.

From: JB Quinn I have the same exact problem, this update is a huge bust. I can't log in on the new version, your not allowed to use an older version. The cherry on top of this cake, is that I'm paying for something I can't use. Way to go linden labs. All of you need to be a little more humane, instead on ranking on LL for their constant updates, you should applaude their efforts. They have installed major updates to the grid in only 6 hours. It's barely been 30 minutes since restated uptime. Remember, the server has to deal with hundreds of us trying to get online. The Lindens are people, they can only do so much after such a major overhaul. Give them a break, I'm sure it's only a matter of mins/hours before we can relog. Remember, the server has to deal with hundreds of us trying to get online. The Lindens are people, they can only do so much after such a major overhaul.

Jasmin, That's because you don't bother reading the notes -- which are posted everywhere. Second Life is a roll-over platform. Updates are needed constantly to add new features for us to enjoy.

Login problems
03-15-2006 15:38
Getting the same error... was online, and tried a demo skin, when I went to put my regular skin back on, the demo one didn't come off, so I logged off to relog in and see if it fixed the texture issue, and can't login anymore, saying not responding...

No log in..

I have been trying to log in for hours and hours....nothing is happening! What is going on? If all these people are having a problem then why are they not saying so on the "status" page. All it says is that SL is up and running. Running where exactly? : (

SL has been down for update to 1.9. It is now back online. But due to the high number of logins, it is experiencing severe strain.

I cant log in either. Its hanging at the 'logging in' screen, then the window ends up not responding. What a bunch of arse.
