[6:59 PM PDT/SLT] Our rolling update to fix extreme packet loss will begin soon. Each region will broadcast a warning message shortly in advance before it restarts, so please travel somewhere else if you don’t want to be logged off. -Torley
Absolutly NO warning whatsoever to change location. You have been logged off by the administrator..join the other thousands waiting!

Well good to hear from someone on the inside. If they are restarting regions then I think I know what is going on.
"Hey guys try it now!"
*puts down donut* "Alright ill reset the grids."
"Torley make sure you tell everyone."
"What! Ok fine but Im tired of them all getting all mad at me for getting logged out so why dont we warn them first before the region restarts."
"Ok sounds good"
*unplugs wires*
"Ok go ahead and warn them"
"...I hate you."
My god its brilliant.

From: onionpencil Musashi Read The Blog I did read the blog! I read that I'd get a warning and to move location if I didn't want to be logged out. I didn't even go POTTY scared I"d miss that warning and get kicked for the rest of the night! So...reading the blog didn't help much. But thanks for reading the WHOLE post where we quoted from the blog before offering your helpful advice

OK now I’m mad… I’ve been waiting for hours to be able to play Dark Life just standing around in Navora and first they say on the blog:
[6:59 PM PDT/SLT] Our rolling update to fix extreme packet loss will begin soon. Each region will broadcast a warning message shortly in advance before it restarts, so please travel somewhere else if you don’t want to be logged off.
Then they make an inworld global annoucement of this:
[19:22] Torley Linden: Hi everyone! Our rolling update to address severe packet loss has begun. To speed up the process, regions are being restarted immediately without warning. Apologies for the rough ride; hope to see you all safe and sound on the other side.
They don’t have any idea of when they will let us log in again. Figures… get our hopes up just to dash them on the rocks again. And people wonder why I ever left SL in the first place. This makes almost a whole week that being in SL has been nothing but a PITA!! Sheesh!! It will have been a whole week by Friday!!

As up to date as possible would not be retracting your statement of giving us a warning 20 mins after 1/2 the grid has already been kicked out without a warning. Thats an afterthought to the complaints made...

i read the whole thing. and i read the blog AGAIN before i posted what i posted.
i agree they should have made an SL wide msg before they started the no warning restarts. nevertheless, i got the info that they were not doing so- from the blog.

Well that was just wonderful. I was talking to a Linden when they restarted Navora... wonder if they realize they just booted on of thier own employees off the grid? wtg LL.

From: someone [7:42 PM PDT/SLT] Some of you are wondering what time advantage there is restarting regions immediately—I checked, and sounds like it’ll probably complete in another hour, as opposed to more like 3 hours (with warnings). EDIT: Please keep in mind these are just estimates, more accurate timings will be provided as we get nearer to opening Second Life again. The rolling update continues… -Torley
from what i am reading on this blog they arnt going to reopen the grid untill everything is finished and they are forgoing keeping residents logged in... so WTH is the point of a rolling update, wouldnt it cut that hour down to lets say 20 min (just a number grabbed out of thin air) flip the breaker, reboot them bastards and lets move on

Here is some proof that killing the forums and going to the blog is nothing more than a way to shut us up and not have to listen to problems with SL and to hide the truth from newbies: Selene Gregoire Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. September 13th, 2006 at 7:59 PM Wow…. We were just in Navora talking with a Linden when BOOM! we were kicked out. Wonder if they know they just booted one of thier own employees? wtg LL

Some of the BS being bogged is just unreal! many of use ALREADY now the reasons behind restarts! But they fail to tell us that Why they don`t warn us anymore..........I agree with Selene . shutting up people is what LLabs are doing and if that means hurting a person rep they still do it.........Is this what Philip invisioned years ago.. a place where people CAN`T reply or voice thought. and if they do they get treated like bad people that belong in jail.........welcoem to 1984 Gorege Orwell style!

Here's another little tidbit for you. The post this to the blog AFTER having already kicked me out of SL. Is it any wonder I am so mad at LL right now? From: someone [8:12 PM PDT/SLT] We’ve been getting queries of safe places to hang out that’ve already been restarted so you can “huddle” there: beez Linden tells me Love has been, and looks like (but not guaranteed) that Linden regions Plum and Waterhead have been too. This isn’t an endorsement to crowd ‘em… just sayin’! -Torley
