Can anyone point me at the XML datasets that were used to create these?

It's not just xml. The majority of the data is in the .llm binary files

Great to have this and thanks for all your hard work and generosity in sharing it. I'm primarily concerned with texturing but I guess I will find the object files useful when I get back to working with AC3D.

One thing: Is it possible to have vector or paths versions of the texture templates? The png files are difficult to work with for precision.

You can output higher res versions from AC3D if you need I suppose. These templates are the extremes of the elements as taken from the SL client. You would have too replicate the work the client does to come up with mid points as I understand from what Zora told me.

Thanks for that suggestion, Zee. I'm not sure how to do that since I have never really gotten to grips with AC3D. In any case, I guess the results will still be pixelated and paths would be preferable because they are useful in so many ways besides being more accurate.

So I have started work on a vector version of my own in Adobe Illustrator. It's a slog and a little bit hit or miss at certain points (literally) but I think I will extract a paths version eventually.

Thanks again for putting these files out - I wasted so much time trying to work with the original mesh in the past - and I have to say that the png formats you provided are still more useful.

Been playing with the hair mesh for some stuff that I want to make. I completely waxed it to my satisfaction. Flipped normals, weld edges, and all that.

Then, for some odd reason, I decided to import the originals provided. I had already waxed it, so why import the origs again? No idea. I'm crazy like that sometimes. Got to playing with the import options just to see what would happen.

Lo! You 3DS Max users!!

Import options:
Normals: Yes
Unify: No

Using that combo, I getting a squeaky clean import with regards to normals. Not only that, but a lot of the open edges are taken care of well. That is, I'm getting open edges only in the smaller attached areas - the main cap is STL-Check clean.

Tried loading up a few with Morpher and it looks good. However, apparently some of the targets rely on split edge (part middle bangs) and have different vert count and indexing. Not entirely which ones, but be aware.

Um... yeah.

Soooo,
Chip/Abu - did you guys ever figure out the morph target stuff for 3DS max? The only thing I need is the foot morphs - I'm going to take a stab at shoe making but I need the foot morphs to properly create the mesh so that I only need 1 invisprim...

In any case - I would love to see if you were able to do this. You guys are so awesome for working on things like this.

Just a little question, it looks superb, but will I be able to use these with Daz3 free? For the Mesh thing, which of the file format should I download?

As well as Paint shop pro9 /Animation shop, or CS3 or 4? Don't wish to install the CS because computer is ready to bust. I already have Corel Draw and PhotoImpact12 and all of the other Photo Impact gizmo 3d and what not, also texture maker, but not mesh one, except for DAZ3

I'm a pack rat, uninstalled PS7.01 full was making the machine lag too much, with all my plug ins and other graphic programs. Beside they work with PSP9 very well tky, and I only have to point the program to the folder containing the plugin or other items I want to use, which is way more versatile. Have 10-11-and12 but since Corel bought that company the product has been changed so much it has nothing to do with what Jasc used to give us in regard of quality.

In PSP I can open all sorts of file format and save them too and in layers, with transparency.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am not sure if this is the place to put this since I am new but I will ask. I put a skin on my avatar and now it looks more like she is wearing a shirt all the time. is there a whay to go back to the original skin I started out with?

If you know what skin it was, yes. Skin in SL is just like another piece of clothing. Find it in your inventory, either in the default Body Parts folder or in one of the Library folders at the very bottom of your inventory. A skin will always have an icon next to it that looks like a stylized figurine with arms and legs spread wide. Double click on it, or right click and select "Wear" to use it.

Incidentally, several of the free "starter" skins distributed in the Library section of your inventory are drawn with underwear on them. That may be the "shirt" you are talking about. I find it annoying, personally, because I'd rather wear my own underwear. As you shop around in SL, you'll find that there are lots of good freebie underwear-free skins and, of course, loads of expensive skins that are worth every penny you pay for their high quality.
