And what is the windspeed velocity of an unladen swallow!

Seriously, let's create a directory in this thread. What kind of clothes do you design, what are your specialties, and where are your shop(s)? I think there's a lot of designers out there that some people don't know about.

Name: Yuki Sunshine
Store Name: Yuki's Second Style

Location(s): Mauve, coordinates in my sig (though there's nothing there yet but a big empty building, in the process of building), In Briana's Aqua galleria, and in Luna, by the fountain on the bottom level. (The one with all the cutouts in the window)

Style: A bit funky, bright colours, for the most part casual. I create the majority of my stuff through getting inspired by references, sketching, or just pulling it out of my head. Most of my work comes from custom painting the textures and finding fabric swatches and trims.

Specialty: Unisex tops and jeans, skatewear and some fantasy stuff. I used to do a lot of attachment stuff, but I've kind of moved away from that. I never used to sell those anyway.

Plans for the future: Build the designer highrise in Miramare, do a huge update for my shop(s), make lots more unisex stuff. Finish my store in Mauve.

Come on designers! Tell us who you are.

I think this counts, accessorize!

Store: Primcrafters

Location(s): Main store with example frames in Mocha, just search for 'primcrafters' on the Find Places. Vendor kiosks in Luna, Federal @ Pendari's, Tan & Aqua @ Beryl's, Lusk @ Luskwood Store, Aqua @ the Galleria.

Style & Specialty: Fine crafted all-prim glasses in multiple styles. Basic models cheap. Also available are feature rich scripted models that change color and tint on command or automatically. You'll never be caught wearing sunglasses at night! Also offer custom fitting of all frames if basic size adjustments don't work out for your avatar.

Future Plans: More frame styles as I can work them out, as well as contact lenses.

I'm not sure if I count because I don't do clothes (yet) but I do consider myself an designer and maybe even an artist!

My store is called Snuggle Designs and it is located in Metis (140,90).

My biggest selling products are my positioning hot tubs which are available in a veriety of shapes and themes and also can be ordered as custom one of a kind originals (PG and Mature positions both available). I also make fountains and furniture. There are also a few odds and ends such as throw pillows and scripted foldable umbrellas.

I have this problem where I want to do anything and everything. :) So... lots of other stuff will be coming soon. Wings are not too far off and are coming soon, I have a few made but not enough to open a whole section, and will probably eventually get into clothing, hair, boy and girl bits, lipstick, jewelry, glasses, etc... some day... I know... the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. *grin*

Anyways, come visit my store any time, if nothing else then to play with the tubs on display. I do love company :)

Store: Prim & Proper__Main Branch in Natoma. Several locations (In cua's Clover Towers, Aqua Gallaria, Luna Mall, and Abbotts Mall next to the Abbotts Aerodrome.

Products: Textures, Avatars and Buildings

Texture Styles: My textures are mostly done by hand using the Gimp (2.0 for Windows). These are later processed in Photoshop and uploaded. They tend to be extremely colorful and highly ornate. Good building textures, but often the designs are too large to scale well for clothing.

Avatar Style: My avatars are often based on real life (or science fiction) characters and are done with a nerdish attention to detail. To date my most difficult projects have been the Apollo 11 EVA suit, various sorts of Dalek AVs, a deep sea diving suit with particle bubbles and a set of invaders from the Sirius system (mostly armored poodle suits in various colors).

Things that come right up out of my head are often the most fun, and I love to make prim based accessories for them. The more realistic the better. Working from real life, or TV or movies is often a chore, but very satisfying when completed. When I made the Daleks they were really so far out of my skill set that they pushed me to learn a good deal of things as I went. But they were very painful to make in the end.

I'm beginning to get a good handle on particles thanks to Jopsy Pendragon's classes and the many particle scripts availble from Ama Omega, eltee Statosky and cua.

Building Style: I don't think I have a particular building style. The one I seem to have made up at first was strongly influenced by Chinese architecture, while a lot of what I'm doing now is strongly impacted by Moorish architecture as found in Spain. Now that I'm working on the Ivory Tower Library of Primitives in Noyo with Minyon Monde, I'm beginning to see the beauties in the basic geometric shapes we have to work with. I love that structure and I'm very happy with the way it's working out. In the end I hope to make quite an institution in the way of the Ivory Tower, and my art galleries in Ritch.

Stores: Z.O's Sundries and FWCD Jewelry in lovely DarkWood; Z.O.'s Sundries and FWCD Jewelery in a Luna walk-in and Z.O.'s Sundries in the Aqua Galleria.

What: I make mostly "fantasy/medieval/elven" type clothing with relatively ornate details (lace, cut outs, buttons, etc.), mostly dresses/outfits (almost all my clothing is sold in outfits rather than individually). I've just started a new line of men's clothing around the same theme.

And FWCD Jewelry, Fallingwater Cellardoor's fantastic accessories, are now available exclusively at Z.O.'s (she's the gal who makes the really cool trees/flower with cut prims).

I also have a few very cheap low prim pieces of furniture in the shop (most 2L or under) and some "decorating" textures -- rugs & walls hangings. I'm slowly expanding the shop, so look for new stuff soon.

Location(s):
the Mall in Olive (203,174)
Luna Galleria (155,34)

What I make: Art, sculpture, and fashion

Fashion: I'm currently just getting started in the fashion business, starting with a line of fantasy fashions for women. My first outfit for sale is called "Dryad" and its a 3-piece set made entirely of woven leaves. All of my things are hand painted and designed by me from scratch. I also take on commissions for custom outfits.

Art: I have several of my original drawings and paintings in world (I'm an artist / illustrator in RL). Mostly fantasy and surreal themed.

Sculpture: Figurative, neo-classical, mythical, goddesses, creatures. I have one goddess sculpture for sale now and there are more sculptures on the way.

Plans for the future: More fashions - including full outfits, wings, and accessories. More sculptures... and eventually pet creatures through a collaborative effort to be unveiled in the future.

I sell, yes, jewelry. I've got a small line of necklaces and bracelets right now, with a flowery/vintage feel. I'll be adding more (earrings, too) in the coming days/weeks/months. Maybe someday I'll fill up the back room and have to get my own store.:)

Oh, I just realized, Zana wrote me up in her post. Thanks, Zany!

Name: Torrid Midnight..though it says who posted this :)

Store: Hmm I'm in a lot of different places at the moment. Pixel Dolls in Chartruese, Erotique Boutique in Stanford, Mall of Olive in of course Olive!, and Mistress and I share a store in Umber.

What: Well, I make a variety of styles in clothing. I create mostly women's clothes, but I am starting to work on men's..finally lol. Some things I make are created from collages of textures or photos and I create from scratch also which is something I'm trying to do more and more. I pay really close attention to detail on my stuff and its something I pride myself on. I *try* to get things about as perfect as I can though it seems to be an impossibility in this game lol. I also make some jewelry, prim based, and I dabble in other things like wigs, etc.

Plans for the future: Like I said I am trying to work on men's clothing and I'm also working on creating more complete outfits and dresses rather than tops or pants. I also plan to visit the Grand Canyon and take a quilting class.

Ok....I have made a BMW bike that I must say kicks. I collaborated in with Yari for scripting and to critique my work. I will be giving a few away as Prizes but currently you must contact me if you would like to purchase this adventure/trick bike. The cost is the same as most which is $500. I felt it really turned out sooo incredible due to Yaris involvement that cost should be set higher but Im not greedy and really wanted to share it with you guys but obligations compell it to be sold. As you guys know I dont "sell" anything...and the clothes I make I share with you guys if you say "hey I like that". Which leads me to my next point....many of my clothes are one of a kinds and because I dont sell my designs, if I gave you a copy then there isnt but a couple of the same floating around. If you have been given Halhigh Wear by Jolene or my own personal line Jolene Jade and want a design by me FOR FREE and ONE OF A KIND in exchange for your time. Im asking dwell from you at a predetermined location of my chooseing. Textures can be included to commission merchant if you recruit a buddy to help in your efforts. Each commission will be negotiated for serious requests.

Working for a brighter tomorrow and a free exchange of knowledge enviroment.....

hugs
