I’ve put together a comprehensive makeup kit for anyone wishing to get started with designing makeup and full body effects/tattoos in SL. It is currently loaded with all the default slider alphas found in the SL client. Its main purpose is to allow SL residents a way to keep any specific default LL slider look while wearing a skin or tattoo. Anyone with PS can create a makeup tattoo with this kit and give the full permissions texture to their favorite tattoo/skin designer for inclusion with a custom tattoo/skin. Popular uses may be freckles, blush, and other subtle effects that are available on the default LL skin. The Kit also comes with an automatic “alpha channel” generating action set (just place the *.atn file into the Photoshop/Presets/Photoshop Actions directory). If anyone has any further suggestions, or wants to try and convert this kit into PSP or GIMP versions, that would be awesome! Established makeup/tattoo and skin artists may also find this kit useful for advanced effects. Effects treatment in PS has the ability to go far beyond what the default LL sliders are capable of. Proof of this is evident in what I have done with some of the sample layers included in this kit. Anyone with some PS knowledge will quickly see that the layers in this file can be populated with any “Alpha” style texture imagined. The real value of this PS file is in the structure and layering of its effects, not the textures themselves. (I've edited my previous post to include 2 download options and a newer build of the conversions template with some naming corrections and added adjustment layers) All files were generated using PS version 7.0.1. Download, unzip, and have fun! secondskinlabs.com (immediate download after clicking OK) http://www.illusionary.com/sl/

From: dragonfly Olsen I click on the link and it takes me to a rapidshare page. From: Cienna Samiam Hmm. This is not a zip file, but an executable. Is it possible to get in it zip format? When you get to Rapidshare, scroll down and select the free download section. A new page will open and you will need to scroll down to the bottom of this page to see the download hyperlink. Download will begin after you click the hyperlink. The self extracting file will save the contents to a folder called SS Labs on your C drive. All other files will extract to your specifications.

Might be because I'm a newbie and a PS student, but HOLY $#!T this file is packed with goodies I've never tried doing makeup that way. The sample files are very slick, especially for default slider makeup! The options are almost limitless once you drill down into the layer effects. Very cool!!!! TY TY TY Nam!

It's been so much fun trying to do makeup with your fantastic templates, but Roseann's work is still FAR better than anything I can do. But, I'll keep practicing.

From: Cessee Hedges It's been so much fun trying to do makeup with your fantastic templates, but Roseann's work is still FAR better than anything I can do. But, I'll keep practicing. Rose uses a custom makeup template I built for her to use with my skins. The effects processing is all her work That proprietary SS Labs template and this public template work in almost the same way. The main difference is the textures that are loaded into it. From: Ginger Pussycat I used the auto installer file. Is this a photoshop thing? It auto run it in C/SSLabs But i noticed the none auto file had a photoshop 'action' file. where do i save it? Photoshop? lol im sooo new ( Yes, I can't guarantee it will work in all versions of PS (except 7.0.1), but all *.atn files go into the Photoshop/Presets/Photoshop Actions directory. Drop that file in there. If you have trouble with it, you can always make your own. It takes about 1-2 minutes if you know what the steps are.

i instaled the action part corectly and i use photoshop cs... it shows it in the action window but after that... im totaly clue less any1 can help or give me a hint? Start by playing with the layer effects on the "color workshop" sample layer set. See what you can do with those layers first, then dive into corresponding "alpha generators" and start manipulating these files to see how you can create custom layers based on the default LL alphas. When you feel you have mastered the techniques for changing all of these files, you are ready to start importing your own texture alphas to replace ones like the eyebrows, makeup, etc. At that point the sky is the limit. You will be able to do almost anything with this kit. Remember, layer effects are the key to this entire kits manipulative ability. I hope that helps
