Unfortunately not. The technique I used to put the mesh out to a texture can only produce a raster image.

Thanks a lot for creating and posting these. Would it be possible for you to do similar files for the head and hair textures? I don't know whether it'd help much for hair, but a head texture would be useful for facial tattoos and markings.

Yes, it will be possible and I'll release it when I get it done. The head has the highest density of polygons and will be much harder to replicate than the upper and lower body meshes were. It's in the works though :)

:) awesome Chip :P I'm not the only one board enough to replicate the SL mesh eheh, I had done it awhile ago but lost the file in a reformating, I picked it up agian yesterday and started to rebuild the UVs in maya, the hard part is getting the mesh to match the SL av. Anyway :) nice job, shows off a lot of the deformation on the maya mesh :P back to the salt mines ehehe

hehe, nope... you're not the only one bored enough to do it :p I made myself a grid box that I attached to my avatar and then took a ton of screenshots from various angles. The grid box attachment gave me something easy to replicate in Max so I could then use the camera match utility to match max's camera to SL's. Then it was just a matter of having 2-3 views that showed each vertice and moving each one so that it matched pretty close in each view. It took an insane amount of time to do, but ultimately the payoff is worth it. After I've hogged the mesh to myself for a while I'll release it to the community. No promises on when though :D

One question chip, did you shots like the one attached or were you able to get good orthographic shots that displayed all the verts?

Orthographic shots would have been great but AFAIK there's no way to change the perspective of SL's camera. That's why I used the grid box attachment so I could match Max's camera to SL's. That screenshot and a lot of others like it were what I had to work with. The camera matching trick actually worked quite well. The biggest problem was I only had a low rez UV template to wear on the av so areas like the hands were very difficult with all the smearing. I had to do a lot of guessing with some of the vertices. It worked out nicely in the end. Now I can do things like this...

ALT + 8, and ALT + 0 will change the perspective of SL's camera ;) Keeep pressing them for more effect. To reset press ALT + 9

Not to repopen old debates about dwelloper-incentives, but this generous act of sharing is exactly the sort of thing that should be rewarded by LL. I know you didn't do it for that reason, but it would be nice to see you recognised for the wonderful asset to the community that you are.

What I need is a head template, I hear you are working on it and I can't wait. :) I did notice a simple one in a previous post. Is that one available? I really don't need a super high rez one, just one that can help line things up.
