Hot off the presses. These are greatly enhanced upper and lower body templates with lots more match points at the seams. They're done at 1024x1024 so you can work in higher detail (you should resize to 512x512 before uploading your items to SL). As always you are welcome to use these as you see fit. Modify them. Give them to your friends. If you add any useful features share them with the community. All I ask is that you keep my name on them. Enjoy!

There are lots of different ways to do it, Pirate. It's only an issue when photosourcing. You can cut up the image to place the details where they need to go and then fill in the gaps using cloning and overpainting. I personally use the liquify filter in PS which allows you to warp the image with a brush. I've also experimented with using winmorph. It worked well but was a bit high in the PITA factor.

I replicated the avatar mesh with exact UVW mapping in 3ds Max (or as close as I can get it). Once I had that I was able to use a subdivision modifier on it, applied a wireframe material, and rendered it back out to a texture.
