LOL. Shhhhhh! You're giving away my trade secrets. Actually, I tried using 6-8 year old kids because they're easy to catch, but they couldn't get the fine details with those fat crayons.

As for the rest of it... *hugs* Your check is in the mail

Ok I guess I am going to buck the trend here....

The amount of work i put into clothing has NOTHING to do with my price.

If i spend 2 weeks straight on a top that is unpopular, I CAN'T price it high. It simply won't sell. Likewise if i spend 5 minutes on a top that becomes the hottest new item, I would be doing myself a disservice if I didn't capitalize on it.

Before I release a new clothing item I usually hand out freebies and watch how people react. THAT is how i set my price.

It can be really frustrating when i work really hard on a clothing item only to realize nobody will buy it unless I set the price low. Unfortunately that is the nature of demand.

hehe..i really dont think its neccessary to price a top over $150.. i mean, you pay $10 to upload the file..so it shouldnt be much more..but yeah, i guess you'd have to include the time and effort that the person put into making that top as well..

i always see these clothes that look like they didnt have much talent into making them, like the ones where you just use a random tacky pattern and stick it onto a shirt or pants..then they sell it for crazy high prices. anyone can do this..

most of my shirts are around $30, or $40..pants are around $50 or $60.. full outfits aren't usually anything over $100. single pieces of jewelry is around $20. yeah i don't want to underprice them, but i don't want to overprice them either..i think they're pretty cheap for the effort i put into them..i don't decide to sell them until they are exactly how i planned them to look..

but i still think the other designers who also put lots of effort into them should price them however high they want..i mean, its their creations so they should decide what they're worth.

There is also the difference between the designers that actually create their works by painting them. (painting = making your own textures) Which is alot more time consuming then taking a item from a website. Whic you clean it and putting it on the template. Or the upload a texture and create the clothes in game with sliders.

Yes so true!!!! I put allot of time and work into my clothing and I make all my own texture I do NOT copy from websites. I think it makes my clothing more authentic and have a sense of pride that goes with it.

Well, the top price for a full outfit that I sell is $70 (that can include everything from top, bottom, shoes, gloves, and undergarments)... but I also will turn around in a heartbeat and pay up to $200 or so for an item I really want. Or even more if I just *must* have it. For me it is rare to find designers who fit my style, but when I do, I tend to focus on spending for their items. hehe..

I also sell low because while I think I make some pretty neat and unique clothing, I honestly know I do not compare to the likes of Chip, Tipsy, Jennyfur, Palomma, Fey, Zana, Torrid, Launa, Beryl, Yuki, Neph, Shadow, Whisper, Cailyn, and so many others. I *love* making clothing and other items in world, but I know my true talent lies in bringing focus to other creators and designers. So I don't like to base my prices as the "norm" or anything. I know a lot of new people and even the "veteran" followers I have love my prices, but I would expect them to agree with me on this issue. :)
