Torley wants to hear more of these, so I thought that as well as posting one to the unhappy landlord thread, I would start a new one....

There may be other lovely landlords out there in SL, but my vote goes very firmly to Hiro Queso. He doesn't charge up front for land, only a rental charge. He allows his renters to deed the land to their groups, so that they can change the music for their parcels etc. He is very helpful and knowledgeable, and makes a huge effort to keep his renters happy.

He has zoned and residential sims, and some of them have a really strong community feel. I went to a party in the grouped island sims, and it had a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. People seem to look out for each other there.

I used to own land before my finances took a downturn, but I have to say that I have been very happy on Hiro's land. Knowing that no-one is going to be building anything noisy or busy in Rapture, which is a residential sim, is wonderful.

If anyone wants details, IM me in world. I think personal recommendation is by far the best way to find a landlord.

Anyone want to nominate another great landlord?

I'm probably bias, but I've been very happy in Neualtenburg. We are a co-op though, so no singular landlord. We work with land "deeds". The rules of the land are determined in the Neualtenburg Constitution and Covenants. But those who don't feel like getting involved in the "government" part of Neualt can pretty much just live and work there, and view it as no different as a list of "community standard rules". Rules outside the city walls are more lax than inside.

The theme and architecture in Neualtenburg is amazing. And we change seasons depending on the time of year in RL. I'm looking forward to getting the snow back in December. I am missing it. hehe..

The citizens in Neualt are really great, and the artists guild is filled with people that have amazing talent. They have really made our community a beautiful place to live and work.

Our long term goal is to see other Sims attached that will have their own forms of government and themes (though the government could be the same, different themes are what we would like to see most!). Whether those sims are co-ops or landlord owned, I look forward to someone taking on the challenge! And it is really nice to hear of other lands with "landlords" and themes doing well! :)

I've been with the Spencer Family for over a year and couldn't be happier. Cape Destiny first and now the Sallyview Estates tied in with the Roadhouse Ranch and Saloon and Radio Station (shameless plug). IM Malana or Valana Spencer for info. We have two story houses as well as apartments and two sims worth of hardly any lag. Great stuff.

d'Alliez Island Group
09-10-2005 10:11
We are with the d'Alliez Islands group and I can't say enough about what a wonderful place to live.

The people are friendly, they set each plot to your "group" so you are in control of your area, no big clubs, no lag monster. They have several islands, one dedicated to furry's with a beautiful community arts center. Haven't explored all of the areas yet but I really look forward to exploring and visiting with my fellow islanders.

I love company and showing off my husbands and my little piece of heaven.

If anyone cares to stop by go to Nantucket d'Alliez and look for the giant sand castle :)

*hugs*

Ash

I own from and pay tier to a well known person, often refered to as a Land Baroness.

I bought land from her quite some time ago she has been more than helpfull, including offering to let me swap my existing lot to move to a new theme SIM I was interested in for no charge.

She quickly responds to any problems I've had on my land or unruly neighbors (no ugly builds allowed in this SIM :) ) . I even came home to find a cute teddy bear that she had left for me in my house.

I hope there are other good landlords and thank you Torley for giving birth to the idea of this thread.

Alliez Mysterio is truly awesome!
10-03-2005 06:10
I moved to the dAlliez Nantucket not long ago, and Alliez Mysterio has been nothing short of stunning as the co-owner of the sim, landlord and overall resource. She jumped through hoops to get me set up, has patiently attended to a ton of newbie questions, and in general has been a tireless asset ever since I moved in.

I STRONGLY reccommend the dAlliez rentals, based on the fast, caring and courteuous service I have recieved.

Tony is a VERY lucky man!!!!!!!!

Thanks Alliez!!

I concur with Cali - Hiro Quest is a great landlord - I wouldn't rent from anyone else, nor buy my own land again.

Although I own a number of land parcels, I also rent in Akasha Village. Trinity Cole is a model landLady. Couldn't expect anything more from her. She is available, easy to deal with and has created a true Community.

I have been renting 1/4 sim from Schwanson for awhile now. He's been an excellent landlord. When there's sim problems (rarely, thank the gods), all we have to do is send an IM and he's on top of it investigating.

Hiro Queso!
10-03-2005 15:34
He is the best!

He replied promptly to my initial inquiries, had detailed information that made making a choice so easy.

He is kind, helpful and I am so very happy with my store on Temotu. Hiro Queso has gorgeous lands for rent, zoned for commercial and for residential.

Really this is the way to go for those who do not wish to buy land.

His set up is wonderful and you control the land as if it was your own. Even teraforming!

Very happy tenant very happy landlord tale ;)

I am very happy in Azure Islands, a beautiful place run by Nexus Nash and Adam Zaous. I have lived there a long time. I am also happy as part of Ravenglass Rentals, run by Prokofy Neva. Although I don't rent from there, I build there and contribute my homes to the group.

Hiro is great. Likewise, Brian Engel of BETA Test. His builds are nice, landscapes and views second to none and a great neighbor.

A Big Vote for Alliez!
10-19-2005 18:14
I'd like to echo the comments about the dAlliez rentals. They are wonderful.

That the islands are beautiful and well managed goes without saying. What is especially wonderful is Alliez Mysterio and Tony Beckett. I really wanted some nice place to live right away and they went more than out of their way to help a very greenhorn newbie understand how to deal with the whole process. Both have been kind enough to answer a bunch of questions about this and than I simply did not understand about sl in general.

Anyone would be lucky to be associated with them. I know I was.

SL landlords have it easy. They don't have to complain about their tenants flushing inappropriate objects down the toilet.

I rented some land in Free Tibet from Prokofy and he was a great landlord. I know some people have issues with the guy -- but he was good to me.

I've never had any quarrel with Prokofy's business practices, myself; Back when he did an experiment in Furness for a "pay per prim" scheme he did all right by me.

It's strictly a matter of opinions and mannerisms elsewhere that I might quibble.

Alliez Mysterio and Tony Beckett are the best!!
12-05-2005 12:08
I have rented my island from Alliez of dAlliez rentals for a few months now after moving from another sim.

Alliez and Tony are hard working and caring landlords. They don't hover over your home looking for things THEY don't like and telling you you'll have to move it. You can actually decorate your sim the way you'd like, not how your landlord wants you to decorate it. :) Any questions I've had they have patiently help me with, as quickly as possible, until I understood what it was I was trying to do. (New at building and learning the game.)

I am considering getting more land and I know if and when I do I want it to be with dAlliez rentals.

If you're looking for land and want your landlords to be reliable, caring and fun to work with then I highly recommend dAlliez rentals.

Schwanson / Tavarua
12-05-2005 13:36
I've been renting my quadrant in Tavarua from back in early January - long before 1.6 and settable group deed for islands, long before land rental via isands was even a popular thing. Very few island rentals back then, and I'm happy to be on one of the most stable sims I've run across (though Numbakulla now beats that record post 1.7).

This sim has been through quite a lot of history in the past year - Deeni Land, Dreaming Tree, the varying forms of my Memorial Gardens, InnerLife, RPM vehicles, a rather haggard Money Tree (current one - the 5th I think - is longest lasting so far), and a bunch of stuff I cannot remember.

I believe I'm also the only original rentor left from both that sim and its sister Aasim. Tis been quite a ride so far, and its still going.

Thanks Schwan, from the unofficial 'elder' of Tavarua. ;)
