Philip will be holding a Town Hall today (April 6) at 4pm PDT.

The Town Hall will be broadcast in Second Life with residents asking
questions via SKYPE and Philip responding using voice.

You can listen to the audio stream by going here:
http://66.221.51.119:9008/listen.pls That station is currently
playing music, and will be switched over to the Town Hall feed when
the meeting begins.

If you'd like more information on attending the meeting in Second Life
or how to call in with Skype and ask a question, please see this
Announcement for details:

........ and what about the thousands of us who don't use Skype?

I'm guessing our questions will be ignored, just like the last fiasco that passed itself over as a town hall meeting.

Damnit. If only I could take the day off to attend.

Does this not belong in Notices in Well Wishes.

Resmods notwithstanding, how are we supposed to interpret Lindens themselves intentionally posting in obviously the wrong forums? Or is the reason maximum coverage? Perhaps it's reasonable to allow Lindens such a luxury as their advertisements are so much more important than ours.

Those of you not using skype should shell out the lousy five bucks for a mic and the whoppin $0 to download skype.

If thats too much money, a pair of headphones plugged into the mic jack will work as a microphone if you talk loud enough.

I already have the equipment - which happened to be considerably more expensive because I am in the UK, but that's another story.

Maybe I'm just not happy to install yet another piece of software on my computer that I am hardly likely to need or use for anything else.

We don't need these flashy gimmicks, a voice town hall doesn't impress me in the slightest. We don't need time wasted about things like "spreading the love"... we just want our questions answered. The last one was my first experience of a Town Hall, and it was the biggest waste of 2 hours I have endured. As it will be past midnight here in the UK, I don't feel led to staying up half way through the night to be ignored again.

I've just clicked it and am hearing music. Or at least something that vaguely resembles it, with "Radio Linden" scrolling through the Winamp box.

I am getting music.

When I click the link, I get a prompt asking what to do with it. I have Winamp installed, and it's default is to Winamp handling it. So I click "ok" and it launches Winamp. Frogg Marlowe is playing right now.

Man, somebody needs to buy you a subscription to Hustler or something. Loosen you up a bit. Wound up like rope, dude.

I have no need of a tacky avatar porno mag to get my jollies off, thankyou. It's a legitimate question, which requires an answer, as are many other things that get ignored by LL.

There are many questions that need answering yes, but not many people are willing to ask them or take the extra step necissary to get them answered. I've visited my fair share of meetings to not get my questions heard. Then we were given the option of skype, I downloaded it, installed it, I got to talk with Phil about my recent question & concerns. Even managed to make a suggestion he thought was a good idea.

So tell me Lewis, what have you done to get your question(s) answered?

I didn't even know these things existed until the previous one, which I stayed up late to attend - found it a laggy waste of space and ended up sitting in with a few friends via a relay point. I asked my questions in the forum thread as requested and they were ignored.

I couldn't stay up late for last night's one so I don't know if the question I asked in this forum thread was asked, until the recording comes out.

Being in the UK, and SLT+8, it's rather inconvenient to have to stay up so late when there are other avenues offered - but ignored.

Town Hall meetings are badly planned and badly implemented. As a European player, they're too late for convenience, and frankly aren't worth staying up for anyway especially when the alternatives are ignored.

Take questions in the forum, consolidate them, give those answers first, THEN take questions from the floor if there is time left. That is how it should be run, and until LL move to that format, they will continue to be a waste of time. After all, why ask for questions if there is no apparent intention to answer them?
