Just curious! Absolutely! Bub Linden says there is talk at the Linden office that there will be a competitor in 2006. Can anyone speculate on what that means? Are there any rumors afloat anywhere about any upcoming new virtual worlds? _____________________

"they" might have a head start, "they" could be in SL right now taking notes about un-thought out features and the un-released features, getting a feel for the ppl who play on these things, what they want/like or would like to have, gathering thoughts on how to avoid some of SL's issues (rather it be technical or social)ect...
if there is a new world comming out on the internet it could be a good race |

Necroposter. And anyway, there are already competitors. SL is hardly the only virtual world. Just the best one. P2 I did not ask if there are any existing virtual worlds other than SL. I said that Bub Linden states that the office scuttlebutt is that there will be a new virtual world appearing in 2006 to compete with Second Life. I would assume that means one that would be serious competition. Regarding responding to posts which have not been replied to for a while, I think I would accept Jeska Linden's view on the subject rather than Phoenix Psaltery's. [...] threads posted in the SL Forums remain open so others may read and possibly comment on them over time. _____________________
