If another SL like game started a beta would you sign up so you could be the new FIC?

Just curious!

I would sign up, sure. I'd love to play something like SL. That actually works.

And I would never be 'FIC' because that implies you're part of an 'in' crowd. And I'm not part of any crowd.

I'd be an Elitist Oldbie.

The presence of a FIC indicates flawed thinking of the developer. For wide appeal and long term success, there must be set policy and even-handed application of that policy.

Favoring one group means short-changing another. If you want a business to grow, it's best not to try make new customers feel like they are not welcome, or even not as welcome as other customers.

And the perpetuation of a myth of FIC and said imagined preferential treatment is usually largely in the eyes of jealous bystanders who blame their self perceived underachievements on the success of the work and accomplishments of others.

Amusingly, an FIC of sorts actually is borne out of this kinda behaviour, because the people constantly accused of being FIC in the first place tend to band together against the 'common enemy' who keep dismissing all their efforts as FIC!

But I'm just jealous, of course, because I bloody well SHOULD have been FIC and I never got any preferential treatment from LL. In fact they largely ignored me, even when I really needed their help. *sigh*

Umm.. can we say, "Duh"? Sure I can.

Would I get in ground floor on another game like SL? Duh! I missed the boat on SL (didn't even know the game existed,) and I wouldn't wanna have that happen again! If I can find a way, I'd start ruling.. ahem.. playing ASAP.

The FIC is a term forum trolls came up with so they could troll more. It's a troll conspiracy against the regular players in SL. I challenge it and push back against this trolling inner cabal.

I have no idea if there is a FIC. My point is that there should not be a favored group.

I always thought that consistancy should be rewarded.. and a lot of people consistently achieve success in the game. They do the hard work, make my life easier, and allow me to set a certain bar of quality that I must achieve in order to be a success.

It is a challenge I gladly accept! (takes glove off and smacks faces)

People want to label those achievers, because they themselves may refuse to do the work to become successful, are jealous of something, or are simply bored. I laugh at the label and don't take it seriously (reads some posts) and I think several of us here find it amusing also.

There is always a group of people who seem to get all the chances and breaks, but it's because they did the work to earn it. And there will always be those with issues because of this. Gotta love Consistancy.

Presence of the concept of "FIC" as a group that is perceived to be unfairly advantaged results from the presence of delusional busybodies with overactive imaginations.

Favoring one group does not mean short-changing another. (Not that LL really does that.) I kissed my girlfriend last night, but I didn't kiss you. Does that make you feel short changed?
