The reason more threads have been moved in the last couple of days is mainly because the reports have increased nearly 3 fold.

Its a lot easier to decide whether a thread needs to be lock/moved when your sent, not only straight to the thread in question, but also the post.

Apparently not fast enough for some who want supercomputers for mods.

Because, you know, if a thread stays 15 minutes past when some folks think it should have been gone, they can't go on about their days without seizures.

Keep an eye on the "Who's Online" list, and make sure to take screenies.

If people posted their threads in the right place to start with, and didn't purposely make extra work for the resmods, there'd be no need to move them.

We may not necessarily agree with their reasoning - but they are doing their job.

Oh, I personally agree with their reasoning. However, that doesn't decrease my amazement at how much some SLers let threads which are possibly in the wrong section stress them out over it.

Exactly, Nolan; not every thread necessarily fits perfect categorization, that's why we HAVE General. General is meant to be just that: things that are of general interest to the Second Life community. Things that warrant General discussion. I've seen a lot of threads that fall into those two buckets moved recently, and the reason given by Zap (poor guy, I do feel for him!) is that is seems some forum nannies keep reporting every thread, making his email go haywire.

When I imagine one or two people AR'ing thread after thread, spending hours a day playing forum cop...well, the phrase "get a life" comes to mind, heh. I miss Pendari's Forum Police avatar.

Zap, you know I love ya man, but when are you guys going to learn that by telling us about the amount of ARs only adds more turmoil? We do not need to know, nor should we know.

Lol, I still apply a certain amount of discretion, its just easier and quicker to have them sent straight to you..

Again if you have a problem with any actions, moved threads etc, please send me a PM and I'll put the thread in the queue for Linden Review, and Torley or Jeska can decide where its best for the thread to be placed.

Ok ok I'll cut out my cobbled together abuse report statistics, I'll just say, theres been a lot of activity in the forum in the last few days

Basically, what it seems like is happening is that Person A does not like Person B who posted XYZ Thread. So Person A reports Person B for their thread then ResMod C has to move said thread to a black hole to compensate the whiny crybaby.

OR Resmod A does not like Person A or Resmod B in fear of getting reports every 15 seconds on a thread moves it to avoid the conflict.

Either way it all sucks and everyone looks like arseholes.

My advice. CHAOS. Lets name names post where we want and let chaos ensue.

We don't need to know.

The AR program is supposed to be anonymous, yet it seems to me that there's a tiny seam leaking.

We don't need to hear "a lot", we don't need to know period.

It's your job to deal with them, not to justify to us why you moved something other than to cite the reason it was moved.

In other words, "It's not appropriate to this section, so it is being moved." Or, "It's being closed pending Linden review, because it may violate the rules". The extraneous info about quantity of ARs is a really bad move IMHO. We already have enough division here, without the mods contributing to it.

I don't want to know how many ARs on threads are being sent. I want to know who is sending them and who are the top report abusers... So that I can beat them up side the head with a hardcover version of 1984 and say YOU LIKE THAT?!? YOU LIKE THAT HUH?!?

If you don't care, don't post. "I care enough to post and complain about this and call people names, but not enough to try to solve the problem in any meaningful way" doesn't exactly sound very good, but there it is...

To clarify, it doesn't have anything to do with the volume of the reports, or the fact they pile up, its being able to be sent specifically the problem posts in a thread, with each abuse report.

The reason yours specifically was moved Mulch, was I, as I'm sure many people, found it very offencive, and people were still ofended by it being there.

To repeat myself it can be a you're-damned-if-you-do-and-you're-damned-if-you-don't situation..

If we only move threads in the worst cases we are accused of being a waste of space, and told we ignore abuse reports etc..

If we move the threads we feel warrent moving we get accused of inconsistancy.

If we move ALL the threads we get accused of over moderation.

I'm aiming for inconsistancy, given those are the only options
