Ok, now that the L$ has fallen, I'd like to ask shops to roll back the prices to pre-L$330 prices. Its kinda shady that you're all keeping the high prices now that the L$ has come down... its just putting more $$ in your pockets unfairly, kinda like the oil companies are doing right now with this $3.00 gas bs.

Thanks!

b) "Rollback the Prices" is something they do at ASDA
c) Where the hell do you live where petrol is $3 a gallon? Where I live, it's almost $7.

My prices did not go up in the first place. You'll probably find that it's the same for many others.

And there's nothing unfair about charging high prices for luxuries you don't need. If you think something is too expensive, don't buy it. Buy from someone else, or make something of your own, or live without it. If the price really is too high, it'll come down naturally as the seller gets too few sales.

yep. Our prices have not changed since 2003. (read: ever.) But I guess it's nice to know, that now that the currency manipulators are back from vacation, as soon as the L$ sinks to 400/1, it'll obviously be *okay* by this poster's logic, to actually raise them for once.

In monitoring SLBoutique as I do, I did not notice a single of our biggest sellers change their pricing structures, except to REDUCE price on items that had been out for a long time.

I don't set my prices based on the L$ value, I set them based on the time and effort I put into them.

This is interesting - from the replies in this thread, you would think noone raised their prices. (I haven't changed my prices since when L$250=1USD - should I?)

Did any store mark up prices when the L$ went to L$330/USD? Has any store not reduced their prices now that L$300=1USD?

My prices never changed when the value of the Linden fell. I just ate the losses. So there is now nothing to rollback.

My prices have gone up since I started making things. When I started I wasn't very good yet, I had to learn. As my products improved and the time I spent on them went up, then so did my prices. But still very reasonable I think.

As with others, I haven't raised my prices - so, I don't feel too compelled to lower them. Thx.

Yes, prices were skyrocketing as the L$ fell. And now.... they have not been falling.

I've never raised my prices, so rolling them back would be... inconvenient.

Seems to me the majority of people are saying they've never raised prices. So, Cow Hand...name one of these stores where you've seen prices raised. No, scratch that, name 3.

Some stores switched to Sol Columbia's VendeX thingie to keep up with the L$ rate changes, but since it's automated system, then so should be price reduction in these places now that L$ rate changed ^^;

I'd be curious to see this, too. In the year (almost) that I've been here, I haven't seen anyone jack their prices up... or change them in any way...

It's quite simple, really. If the price is still too high, then the merchant will not sell enough and be forced to reduce the price or make an improved product.

I've never done anything but decrease prices. I don't factor in the L$/US$ exchange rate at all.

First of all, I think it's rather humorous someone in the US complains about gas prices.

UK TEESIDE $5.64
HONG KONG HONG KONG $5.62
UK MILFORD HAVEN $5.56
UK READING $5.56
UK NORWICH $5.54
GERMANY FRANKFURT $5.29
DENMARK COPENHAGEN $5.08
NORWAY STAVANGER $5.07
NORWAY OSLO $4.93
ITALY ROME $4.86
TURKEY ISTANBUL $4.85
PORTUGAL LISBON $4.80
KOREA SEOUL $4.71
SWITZERLAND GENEVA $4.56
KOREA KOJE/OKPO $4.53
AUSTRIA VIENNA $4.50
CROATIA ZAGREB $4.32
JAPAN TOKYO $3.84

Oh, and if you want lower prices.... you might try immigrating to:

AUSTRALIA SYDNEY $2.63
CAMBODIA PHNOM PENH $2.57
TAIWAN TAIPEI $2.47
GEORGIA TBILISI $2.31
LAOS VIENTIANE $1.66
THAILAND BANGKOK $1.60
CHINA TIANJIN $1.54
CHINA SHANGHAI $1.48
RUSSIA MOSCOW $1.45
KAZAKHSTAN ALMATY $1.36
KAZAKHSTAN ATYRAU $1.35
TAJIKISTAN DUSHANBE $1.32
AZERBAIJAN BAKU $1.15
VENEZUELA CARACAS $0.14

I think it's pretty myopic to complain about $3 dollar a day gas... but we're American's, it's what we do! :)

Secondly, your title reminds me of Walmart. This isn't walmart... the designers have the right to set prices at whatever they please, and you have the right to not buy them. Oh... and if you really want to get back at them...learn how to create content and then sell them at cheap prices!

*yawn*
