This bolded line kinda cought my attention. Why would anyone wana do this? There are much better way to earn money in EU then that. Besides near that dung is probably the monster who did it, ready to snap your head off. XD

Well there was this one time a pile of dung kept rezzing next to a auctioneer. i guess he doesn't get breaks that often. :)

From: someone

Players with little or no money are initially limited to the following actions:
* Using the service as an elaborate 3-D virtual chat room.
* Exploring the virtual universe.
* Gathering "dung" and "fruits" which can then be sold to other players to raise funds.
* Using an in-game process called "sweating" or "sweat gathering" where one spends time using in-game mind force concentration abilities on creatures to extract bottles of "Vibrant Sweat", which can also be then sold to other players for small PED values.
* Performing numerous "jobs" for other players; for example, acting as trader, selling other players' virtual possessions for a profit.

EVE ended up being pretty cool, though if you go in expecting an experience like any other MMO, your SADLY mistaken. I guess its closest predicessor would have been EA's Earth&Beyond, before they canned it.

Anyone remember an old amiga/dos game called Elite? Ok. Take Elite, ramp up the learning curve about 100 times, add lots of numbers and technical stuff, and you have EVE. Its a thinking person's game, for sure.

I remember trying the game out way back. I was pretty confused and annoyed at first trying to figure things out, so I just decided to go exploring through the endless fields of grass and whatever else was coming outa the ground... almost died a few times while doing this, and was amazed by how huge the continents (or w/e they were called) were. Anyway... I ran into some guy later on who supposedly wanted to help me out.. so he lead me to this area where there were giant wasps and I had to collect "sweat" I think it was... which was really odd to me lol... anyway I got bored of collecting sweat, dying repeatedly, and fighting with the interface and ended up logging out and logging back into SL in relief...

Anyway, I did hear about the fact that the game sucks all the money out of your pocket in order to do anything. I guess I was bored as hell that day and decided to give it a shot since it was free to download. Didn't really catch my interest. :)

Hey

How many SL'ers are from Project Entropia and how many SL'ers are considering moving over to Entropia ??
And, how many are citizens of both SL and Entropia ??
Curious....

Thanks!
Yirrk

There are quite a few who play both - search/groups "entropia" ;)

i heard about eve while playing earth and beyond, so i went and checked it out in beta. i quit after orbiting an asteroid mining it for something like 2 hours. i think the best description i've ever heard of Eve was "the prettiest interactive screensaver ever".

Eve is great, if (and only if) you like alliance scale PvP and logistics. In a a recent 600 person 3 day fleet op by the most powerful alliance some people spent over 24 camping gates and hauling supplies and had actual combat times measured in seconds. Kinda like joining the army really... huge periods of boredom and crap work followed by brief fights that leave the losers dead so the winners can loot their remains.

Not my thing, but there are people who love it.
