And the down grid delay WOULD happen on the one day I'm stuck home from work waiting for contractors...

Sigh. Guess I'll just troll the forums instead. ;)

Magnum, Magnum, Magnum, why do you request that every thread you start be closed after about 15 minutes? :)

All the other announcements I've seen say 3pm. Which is it - 3pm or 5pm? It matters to me, because the latter time is one in the morning for me.

3pm Second Life Time is the same as 5pm Central Time. So, as far as we know so far, go with 3pm.

Edit: Yes, what Ordinal said. ;)

Ok, must speak up and have never posted before. I don't understand why this thread became a personal attack, and YES it has. It was unnecessary and uncalled for. Take it elsewhere.

The thread was about the delay and opened up to talk about it. So, he didn't see the other threads, big deal. If you didn't like it, guess what, you could hit the back button and look at another thread. Get over yourself and let the thread get back to what it was set up to do - discuss the delay.

Sheesh, can't people just be nice?

AS YOUR GOAT, I CONSIDER THIS A PERSONAL ATTACK!

I'm sorry, but I've decided to quit my herding job in Outer Mongolia. I thought I'd informed you of this? Anyway, say hello to Magnum, your new overlord. :) Unfortuantely it means you'll be kept in stone age conditions, as that was when Magnum wanted to freeze evolution I'm afraid.

Sorry, I don't recognise ResMods. Nothing personal Zap, but I just don't. However you could actually set a good precedent here by closing this thread, and other duplicates, with a message telling people to look more closely in future before starting duplicates - it's normal courtesy on forums. This isn't rocket science now, is it.

I understand that, as is your choice. However, while multiple threads on one topic might be annoying, its not disallowed, I can't close threads because people feel like it.

I have however submitted it for Linden review, if a Linden or another ResMod feels this thread warrents closing, thats what they'll do..

Because of the thickness of personal attacks on this Thread and also because I started this one thread, I would not mind if the Lindens, Zapoteth Zaius or another Moderator closed it.

I did look. I thought I looked carefully because I scanned the titles for several minutes looking to make sure I did not duplicate a topic.

It always amazes me that patch after patch and update after update we are still met with a barage of cynically stupid posts on the trials and tribulations of waiting for SL to come back up. It mattered more to me when I wasn't working, but nowadays I barely notice downtime because I am at work for 95% of it. So here is a helpful little list of things you can do instead of bitching about the grid being down or whatever:
- Go outside if the weather is nice and do something
- watch television or a movie
- surf the intarweb
- clean your room/apartment/house
- call a friend or family member on the phone
- masturbate
- take a bath/shower
- read a book or magazine
- play with your dog or cat
- devise plans to take over the world with an army of robot carrots

Do I really need to continue? I love SL as much as the rest of you, but the constant whinging about downtime really makes me just wanna say GET A FUCKING LIFE YOU LOSERS :D lol :p

This thread remains open. I do not see personal attacks so much here as I see some things that may best be taken into private channels of communication--please do so if you feel this is warranted.

Duplicate threads about the same topic don't lend themselves so well to being closed as being merged. There was a previous experiment during grid downtime in which I saw this was clear, and merged the "Is Second Life down/up?" threads.

However, it is good to look around and see what else is happening, and post in someone else's thread if it applies to you instead of starting your own.

In any case, thank goodness we can get back into SL again!

No worries. :)
