I cant even describe how i feel right now...

I cant place how im feeling right now, as far as angry, disturbed, upset or just plain disgusted. This is due to a number of different factors, which i'll post in this long post.

Today, i added about 23 to my person land ban list, why do you ask, because i had a griefer today grief me with 23 god damn accounts, i would ban one, he would come back again, i would ban the next, he would come back again. As a land owner i am unebelievably pissed off to the point i am just about ready to pack up all the land i own, everything i do in secondlife and just leave. This is what was happening in There, i left real quick, packed up all my places, sold it all and transfered it back into USD.

I am extremely irritated and fed up with the griefing, and so are several of my close friends that may also be leaving shortly due to their own personal experiences within their time on SecondLife.

Also, just for the record the reason i didnt ban more then 23, i got tired of abuse reports (which lindens never bother doing anything about) and trapped the god damn griefer as i got tired of filling up my banlist at my personal mansion. NEVER have i ever had to ban multiple accounts this is outragious with no solution in the imediate future, as linden lab does not feel like listening to THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS, instead they look at who back out on a registration.

Second issue of complaining ... is this allow via payment status, how lovely, our long awaited search for a cure against griefing, of course its nothing usful. Ive got an idea for LL - Add one button, "Disallow members with "No Payment Status Added" and BANG things are wonderful again, because frankly, due to all my friends that are basic or premium, i cant even use the damn permissions due to the fact they have different types of account status, whether its payment info used or payment info on file.

I am to the point where im about ready to call it quits, as i know many others are too, normally i would ask for one of the linden staff to reply to this or atleast read it, but guess what... They dont bother to even read this section probably, and if one replied i would probably drop dead and someone would have to call 911.

Third issue of complaining ... I remember back on my alt during beta, brand new atmosphere and everything, things were new and people tolerated the crashing, and the bugs, and the problems with the client. We are into what? year three? and we still cant have a somewhat stable client... I dont even know what to say about this, its trully pathetic, the fact that linden lab will add new features, on top of the client which is unstable due to bugs that started way back when, which im not even going to comment on that factor, and not going to say much about this as it pisses me off the most.

Fourth and final issue of complaining ... Teens on the main grid, oh do i love this... I come onto SecondLife and expect to be with other adults or atleast people eighteen or above, yesterday i got on, and i had a 15 year old girl offering to have some 'fun' with me for lindens because her parents in real life wont let her use the money she saved on the game. This is the thing that really makes me sick to my stomach, and as a criminal justice major, it disturbs me the most. Another case and point, last night i cant remember what club i was talking to an old friend at some event i joined her at, where they had the dancers and the escorts and what not, and what do i run into? can anyone guess? another teen this time she was fourteen, she was an escort and a dancer, and then i think about my career, as im in the career of law enforcement, just how pathetic linden lab is to allow this type of behavior, as ive reported several children that are on the main grid to linden lab via screenshot of them openly admitting it into an im, and they are still on the main grid, when i most of them i had gotten an email with the title " Abuse report resolved " (Not the exact but you all know what i mean), then i ask myself, if they resolved it, why is the child still on the main grid. Another case and point, i reported someone a few weeks ago that i ran into at the all in one casino last night, and he was actually bragging that linden lab did nothing to him after i reported him, and let me tell you, i reported him a second time just for kicks, though i know nothing will be done with the report other then briefly looked at and tossed.

So there you all have it, i figured i would vent on the forums instead of venting in game, as i cant stand being in game right now due to events that made me have to get off before i went nuts (which happened to be a ton of drama... at the island i own allot of land at there was a fight between a few of the "no payment on file" people and residents, claiming that the residents were spreading false rumors about the no payment on file people, which are clearly underage, though reports on them havent resolved that issue, finally i said, im done with this, fed up, locked up my land so that i can only enter and got off secondlife, where i may stay off for a few days just because im so angry, upset, disturbed, and so much more.

So, now lets hear some of your input, i would love to hear it.

Given the length of this post, I have to believe the thread title is a tad misleading.

Another example of what some people pay to get on a game to deal with.

Back when I was paying $75 a month in tier everything that went wrong with the program upset me.

At my current payment level of zero the bugs and flaws and social problems don't cause me much distress.

If I understand correctly you might be able to block unverified people from your land during an attack, if that is compatible with your use of the land.

LL should be able now to put a hardware block on that attacker.

I'd send an email to [email]abuse@secondlife.com[/email] and [email]support@secondlife.com[/email] with the names from your ban list and a description of the problem. If you can find the name of a specific person at LL to send a copy to that might a good idea too. They should be able to block the machine, so we have been told.

Ive tried with emailing linden lab, they simply do not care, same issues are unresolved, and it just never gets worked out, hence the reason im so highly angry right now.

LL REALLY needs to do something about the underagers on the MG, before they get sued or cited and shut down.

First of all try calling support instead of emailing support.

Second regarding SL getting sued or cited, I believe SLs current registration system is in compliance with the COPA.

Well, you have a right to feel angry, Herry, you had a really bad night, by your description. What can we say? If this is intolerable to you, then you should leave, the world won't end, it is just a game (don't give me that..). I know that is difficult because of friendships that develop, but if this is really stressing you out that badly, what can you do? I'm new and haven't had that much trouble, not to the point of getting all upset (over orbiting, shitheads, kids etc.) but that could all change and I will be wailing here in a few weeks, who knows.

You're absolutely right, on every count.

LL is not going to take the issue of teens on the MG seriously until the FBI takes their damn servers. If there is a kid younger than 16 dancing at a sex club, the FBI needs to be notified. PERIOD.

I think i will look into reporting it, i'll let you know what comes of it.

Cheer up! They are probably just overwhelmed right now cracking down on intellectual property on textures and and in world and on forum icons and whatnot.

The COPA requirements aren't that strict. By having the boxes you enter your birth date and agreeing to the ToS, which is a legal contract, is by law enough. HOWEVER, I don't know if anyone has noticed the interesting catch 22 regarding this. Minors can't enter a contract without a co-signer (like the ToS).

COPA has been restrained, though. And I don't think LL throwing away the verification process completely is going to look real good if/when they ever have to defend themselves in a lawsuit no matter what they've done since.

There's another threat here that cannot be underestimated. That is, that if a story about 14 year old girls working as prostitutes ever breaks in the major press, SL is going to look extremely bad. LL could even take a financial hit from investors no longer wanting to be involved. This is not an issue that should be trifled with.

Herry, when you found the underage girl at the sex club did you inform club management? As someone who's managed adult clubs in SL, I can assure you that even if there's no sex involved these kids will get fired so fast it'll make their heads spin. And if they're not, I want to know the name of the club (seriously, PM me).

I hate to say it, but with all the pussyfooting that's been done with verification since 6/6, maybe it would take a visit from the FBI to actually get something substantial done again. I realize that kids got onto the MG before 6/6, but it's funny that I only ran into 2 who admitted it in my year prior to 6/6. Since then I've had at least 10, maybe 12 who openly admitted they were under 18... in a little over one month. That's scary.
